First walk!
Well now that Violet is all vaccinated, today is the day she can go out for a walk! We keep telling her that today is the big day, but she didn't even get up until 10am this morning, so either pups are the complete opposite of children on Christmas morning, or she's just not that interested
Have brought her home to mum and dads this week, so will get dad to bring his fancy wee video camera and try upload something later!

Re: First walk!
Normally she gets up at 6 and spends the bare minimum of time outside, then she crawls back into her bed until about 830, but today, there was no way she was getting up! I only hope she isn't conserving energy so she can go wild now that she's allowed out in public

Re: First walk!
She will probally just sniff everything and refuse to move too much. Try not be get overly frustrated and this is a great step. Taking them for a walk really helps in bonding.

Re: First walk!
We're leaving from a flat today, and whilst she's very interested in the front door, I don't know that she'll make it out of the close, especially now that it's started raining.
I've been carrying her up to the end of the street and back to get her used to the noises of busses and cars etc. so hopefully that should help her from getting too overwhelmed on her first real outing!

Re: First walk!
After worrying that she might not like being outside, the bold Violet STORMED to the park, then all round the pond following pigeons, hopped through the railings and stormed back home again. She met a tonne of dogs which she was completely fine with, even when two dogs ran up to her at the same time.
Only problem was, she didn't know that she was meant to do a pee in the park! :-<

Re: First walk!
She's certainly getting the idea now! Several times in fact
I'm actually really pleased with how good other dog owners are, stopping to have a talk to her and letting their dogs stay for a bit to meet Violet. Plus, there is a massive range of dogs in the park - from the worlds biggest alsatian, to the dinkiest little 5 month old chihuahua, we've met them all. Even some people with a baby let Violet have a wee sniff at their baby's toes!
