being protective
last night my little boy woke and came into my bed, tia woke and went to give him a little lick, went back to the bottom of the bed and went back to sleep, then about 5 minutes later something had fallen inside the cupboard on the landing, she shot up jumped on my son and started growling at the door, then leaped onto me growling at the door again, i told her It's ok Tia it's not an intruder (anyone else talk to their dog like a human?) and gave her a stroke. she started to settle and finally fell back asleep 20 minutes later I thought this was so sweet of her protecting her little family

Re: being protective
They are fantastic watch dogs! If there is a single noise outside Logan belts down the stairs to investigate. Albeit, if it was an intruder he would most likely just jump up and slobber all over him haha.

Re: being protective
Sounds like Tia is just looking after her family, if Rocky hears a strange noise outside he will go and investigate then come back indoors and jump up onto my lap to protect me. I think it's very sweet really and it's nice to feel secure and protected.

Re: being protective
Aaaww, sweet makes you feel a bit safer I suppose. I think Loki would alert me but not protect me. He'd bark to let me know what's up, then I'm on my own

Re: being protective
If she's anything like mine she was probably just waking you up so you could go see to the intruder.
And yes I chat to Bacchus too. Were just discussing Einstein's theory of relativity........Well actually no, we were just deciding whether to go out in this godawful weather.

Re: being protective
I'm always chatting to Katy, i cant help it i like the facial expressions. As for the barking Katy will jump to her feet if she hears a noise near the house & start. If we are in bed she will stand astride me a bark, which i think is being protective. The only downside is if i haven't heard the noise myself, it can be a very rude awakening

Re: being protective
Lexi doesn't really look around at strange noises. She might * her ears then looks all embarrassed as if "its nothing don't be silly...its not a ghost...THERES NO SUCH THING AS GHOSTS AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
Or was that me...

Re: being protective
I always talk to steff like a human
Last week Dad was putting the bins out and walked past my bedroom window, Steff low growled, hackles came up, then flew out the bedroom door and bailed dad up in the dark laundry barking and growling It was until he told her how silly she was that she realised it was just Poppy and then she jumped all over him licking him to death
