Re: shedding
If you have the central heating on in your home this may well make him shed more hair. A good brush through once a week should be OK to get rid of any loose hairs.

Re: shedding
Logan is shedding heaps at the moment, i think it's pretty normal as all my dogs have always shedded a fair bit. I have a good firm brush I use more or less everyday to get the bulk of the hairs off him.
I also find he sheds a lot more when he's got soaked when out on walks, which is a lot lately lol!

I actually use a brush I got from Poundland which came in a wee set. Nothing fancy for me lol. It's just a short bristled firm brush. I brush in direction at the start to get the bulk off, then opposite along his back, then in direction again. Loads always comes off and he is always shining after, plus he smells a lot better lol.
It sort of looks like this.

I don't believe it spending a lot of money!

Re: shedding
thats like the brush, just brushed him for the second time today and now making his skin flaky, I hope im not doing any damage. This is our first dog and a rescue dog. We have had him 2 months today. Had a vet look over him when we first got him and was in good condition so worried we have done something that maybe affecting him. We feed him on Hill science plan vet essentials so I am sure we are feeding him corrctly

Re: shedding
The flaky skin is just dead skin that comes away. It's doing good by brushing him so don't worry.

Re: shedding
That's good to hear. Logan looks like he has dandruff after starting to brush him but it goes away after a minute or so, so it's normal. Just make sure he's not being bathed too often as it can increase dry skin by removing too much of the natural oil in their skin/fur.

Re: shedding
bathed him twice so far. Once the weekend we got him as he had been in pound kennels for a week and then just a couple of weeks ago after all the snow and got very muddy. Plan to bath him about once a month.

Re: shedding
You brush the wrong way first to loosen any dirt then brush him normally. Staffs can have a tendency to get baldy bits

Re: shedding
Sardines with olive oil in his food a couple of times a week can help improve the coat too
