My First staff (Lexi)
Hey guys joined today and love this forum.
So anyway.... I got a new puppy 3 days ago. She is only 6 weeka old. And I know from experience with other dogs I have had that puppies are not meant to leave thier mothers at this stage. But the people who bred her were not very nice people and from the way they were talking there was only one option they were considering if I didnt take the puppy.
However I fell in love with her. I called ber Lexi.
Ive had a few issues with crying at night. But at her age I was fully expecting it and it is not a problem.
She is nipping alot. Or at least she was, and is already learning that it is naughty to bite people.
I am so suprised at how clever staffs are. And in the 3 days I have had her I have done nothing but read al I can about Staffy's.. and thats how I found you guys.
Because of lexi's age I am making sure I 'mother' her so to speak, as muvh as I can.
She is eating incredibly well and is such a pleasure to have (and a handful)
I'd like to ask you guys for any and all advice concerning training Lexi in all things, from toileting to sitting.
Thanks
Adam & Lexi

Re: My First staff (Lexi)
Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new pup. At 6 weeks she will need a lot extra attention because as you've said she should really be with her mum. But this is obviously not your fault
All of the problems you've said are typical of a Stafford pup, I thought I was losing my mind when I first got Logan haha. But it's all great fun.

Re: My First staff (Lexi)
Hi from me & Katy. She looks gorgeous. Dont worry too much about her being too young, i got Katy at 6wks & i'm her 2nd home! Couldn't leave her where she was. Yes she will need alot of mothering. Katy used to suckle on my dressing gown cord for comforting & lots & lots of cuddles (not a problem) Enjoy every minute, they grow so fast

Re: My First staff (Lexi)
Hi and welcome, you will have loads of fun with her.
If they weren't very good breeders they might not have done things like worming etc, so I would pop her to the vets and get her looked at
She is lucky to have you I am sure
