Progress on training
Dragon now comes 99% of the time when called so the recall is pretty good at the moment even of the lead in a big field he came back in about 3 days I might get a friend to meet me with his dog on the lead and dragon on a retractable lead and train the recall while another dog is near him.
With all this training it's making me trust Dragon quite more we been walking past other dogs and he hasn't been pulling towards them like he use to, he's been doing amazing in such a short time, really proud of him.

Re: Progress on training
That is fab , he sounds like a quick learner
out of interest , when doing recall , do you just shout him , or do you clap your hands or blow a whistle ?
I ask because when the beach was quiet we would let our Taz off and he had a great recall , but if it was v windy he couldn't hear my voice , I thought maybe I should have used a whistle or something ?

Well done! They are quick learners
FAO Sarah, you may want to try a whistle, even claps/clicks/shouting can carry in the wind on an open beach Xx

Re: Progress on training
Never used one myself, but my aunt lives in Norfolk, right on the beach, love visiting, she uses a whistle, very high pitched so guessing a dogs whistle but a good quality one.

Re: Progress on training
You still have to train them to listen to the whistle though otherwise is also won't work! Xx

Re: Progress on training
I'm getting a new training lead and will have to start training recall again with Bacon. His recall is 50% when we are on our own and 0% when there are dogs nearby.

Re: Progress on training
I'm sure you will they learn fast the thing is I do nothing apart from walking my dog an training him lol so I have a lot of time to spend training him, going to a field in an hour or two to get his recall at 100%
