Ursi died today

She was 13 years, far too old for a chow. Had a gastric torsion and couldn't keep it together in time for surgery. She was my dog but I gave her to my dad after his divorce for company. Friendliest dog you could imagine both to other animals and humans and also very stoical about her diminishing health. My first ever dog and one who will always have a place in my heart. When Mani met her this past xmas, I felt she passed on the baton to him.

She was such a nice dog that I know of at least 3 other chows that were bought because of her.

They really are like bears. I've actually never even seen one in real life. They are quite rare over here.

Coincidentally, I went on a play date w/ Mani earlier in the day yesterday and one of the dogs there was a chow who looked a lot like Ursi. First chow I had seen live for a few months too. Coincidence?
