Hi my staffy has long legs
First topic message reminder :
Hi i got a staffy a few days befor xmas, the guy told me she was a full staffy, but my vet says she is a staffy cross. ive been mooching about on the internet and saw a right up that said, long legged staffys are usually cross breeds and usually pit bulls. long legged staffys are also known as irish staffys, which are also cross breeds, and usually pit bulls. dont mention to the police you have a long legged staffy or an irish staffy or they will come knocking at your door. so of course now ive made my self worried reading all this. if this dog i have brought is a pit bull or has pit bull in it. do i need to worry abouts its tempremant as i have a 5 year old and a 3 year old. or is it no differant to any other pup you bring into the household.
i will try and attach some pics of my dog, we have called her primrose, and she is about 3/4 months old .

If you don't have papers and didn't see the parents you will never know. Just call her a staffy cross.

Re: Hi my staffy has long legs
Not sure about the x but definitely a lot of Staffy in her , that pic of her standing outside at the beach I would say Staff X Bull Mastiff , but when I see the pics with your daughter she looks different again , and the pics where you don't see her face then she just looks Staffy
As far as Bull Mastiffs are concerned then they are brilliant natured dogs though can be very stupid and very active. You just have to hope if that guess is right then there is more Staffy than anything to keep the size down My OH son has 2 Bull Mastiffs and we've looked after the boy on occasions before he got his girl , they make awesome lap dogs
and this is his girl , I suspect she is not 100% (he got no papers and only saw mum) but she is much more shorter in the face , he says that's the Bull in her but I'm not sure. Regardless though she is lovely and lively

Re: Hi my staffy has long legs
i dont know if any one has ofered this advice to you on the biting. I know everyone has given their ideas, but i thought i'd tell you how i dealt with Romeo's habbit.
Romeo was a super mouthy dog, and even now when he plays he might mouth, but it doesnt hurt.
I just imitated litter behaviour. when he bit too hard i would yelp rather loudly and then walk away. when ever the bite hurt me i would yelp, and then i would just yelp when ever he bit, and lastly whenever he tried to... high pitched noises catch attention quickly, and dogs already know this is not a play noise, this is a pain noise. In the end when i would yelp romeo would make a fuss about licking here he had bitten and looking very sad for himself. i havent had any biting issues with him since he was 10 weeks old now... and he's almost 1 and ½ years now

Shes a cracker! I think your along the right lines with Bullmastiff x staff or ridgeback x staff. And don't worry what people say, as long as you bring her up to be friendly and sociable you shouldn't have any problems. She looks like a kind dog. Love the name! x

Long-legged Staffie response
I have one, too...brindle. 75 lbs and these dogs are known as nanny dogs in England. They love
children but mine HATES other dogs. I read that some Staffies will never be socialized and need to be in a one-doggy family. The family before raised her after her mother rejected her. She was great with their 2 dogs til she reached 1.5 years old then started fighting with them. Genetics are tough to change even in humans.

Not sure I understand your meaning?
People post here because they need advice/reassurance/companionship. If a Staffordshire Bull Terrier has long legs it isn't a problem unless
a) You plan to show your dog
b) You are in a country that bans American Pitbull Terriers.
Please tell me your problem.
