Jellybean and walkies
hi all! happy new year! haven't been on much, as we've been quite busy. Jelly is doing OK, but with the snow and cold, she is even less fond of walks now that when it was raining. She seems to want to just hibernate!
She's nearly one now, is it OK to just let her nap and hang out, and walk her once a day for a LONG walk, like over an hour, rather than making her go out twice a day for 45 minutes each? She seems OK with it, but I don't want to under-exercise her either.
How long do 1+ year old dogs need to be walked each day?
Thanks!

Re: Jellybean and walkies
That's pretty close to what we do, Kathy, give or take a few minutes for weather.
She got sick on Sunday night too, threw up a few times, but hasn't since. So I've been letting her off a bit easy, only one long 90 minute walk yesterday and today. She really looks like she wants to rest and needs it, so I'm not pushing her. Not sure what made her so ill, maybe some nasty water she licked up in the park on Sunday when we were playing frisbee with her in the snow. Can't be the snow/weather itself, I'm sure!

Re: Jellybean and walkies
I hope she feels better soon ><
On my days off Moo gets 1 long walk but we leave at 12 and get back at 4, I think you can gauge it by her really but they do really need 2 walks a day Xx

Re: Jellybean and walkies
When we are busy we will sometimes cut back to one long walk per day. We also have used a back pack ever since she was 18 months

Jstaff, what do you mean by you use a back pack? For walking Suki, or does it go on her? Sorry, dumb questions I guess LOL
