Jellybean wearing the cone of shame
poor baby was just spayed on Monday, which she took REALLY well. only left the cone of shame on her for a day or so. no biting or licking of the wound, healing well. Just love this picture though - such a face!!

Re: Jellybean wearing the cone of shame
i know it's a pain for her, but she just looked so cute in it! she looks better out of it though - beautiful girl!!
you'll notice that "Cowie" is never too far away. Poor Cowie's udders are nearly empty from the stuffing being ripped out of them, but she really loves Cowie and Cowie loves Jelly haha

Wow, that's awfully young!
I'm sure she'll recover very soon.

yes, we thought it seemed a bit young but our vet assured us it's very safe and encouraged, and even goes to preventing breast cancer or other issues later. so we went ahead with the recommendation as they have been trusted vets for our other girls for years now. she seems OK, maybe that's why she's been a bit fussy this week?

Re: Jellybean wearing the cone of shame
I know vets say early neutering prevents a lot of problems, but unfortunately they don't tell you that it can also cause a lot of problems.
Hopefully she'll be lucky & not experience any of the drawbacks.

No doubt Jellybean will be running around like a looney in no time....
They just look instantly sad when wearing "the cone"
glad she is going okay..

Re: Jellybean wearing the cone of shame
she's fine, it's funny she really handled it well - never once was interested in chewing the wound or over-licking, right back to old self, full of beans, even more so. we were relieved, because we did have some misgivings about the timing of it but so far so good

Re: Jellybean wearing the cone of shame
Did she do what Blue did to me and constantly run into the back of your legs. After 500 times hitting the exact same spot on the legs and you start to cry
