Agreed. It is way to popular here in the US. People think that is what Pits are supposed to look like... but they are supposed to be lean and athletic, not "ripped."

This is where we differ. I think thats a really bad image of our Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Thats not a nice image. Don't get me wrong I am sure it is soft as they all are, but why do that??

As i said in another post this dog is defo not a apt lmao! Pits look nothing like this is real life but most people think of them looking this way.......this is an american bully (not a official breed as far as i no) basically a cross breed, why anyone would purposley cross a dog to look like this i dont no, looks like a walking vet bill to me! x

It is actually a registered breed my friend and has been since the 90's. And there are many reputable breeders And they live 15 or more years with less health problems than an english bulldog. It is true that they come from pitbulls and some other type of molloser dog, but where do all dog breeds come from? Where did the Staffy come from? All breeds started from two seperate breeds or related breeds. All breeds start somewhere and everyone has there favorite breed. So they are bred to be big muscular teddy bears.. I see nothing wrong with that. Hope this helped.

They are not registered as a pure bred dog in the AKC or UKC and I have never seen a reputable breeder advertised online or elsewhere. I have never met an American Bully that has the stamina of an APBT, AmStaff or StaffyBull. They all tire very easily and a lot have hip, joint and leg problems because of their proportions. That is what happends when a short legged dog is ridiculously meaty and muscled rather than toned.

I feel they are no more unhealthy than the british bulldog, but agree if they are not registered with the american kennel club then they arnt reputable. Therefore not a identified breed maybe in the future that will change. Anyone can breed from there back yard doesnt mean they are doing right by the breed and cutting there ears off and putting a horrendous collar on is not doing the dog any justice. Smile

Oh, and when you guys mention "american bully" .. I assume your not reffering the "american bulldog" ? which of course is a recognised breed, and has been by the UKC since 1999 (my brother in law has a beauty!)

No, The American Bully is not the same thing as the American Bulldog. AmBullies are an unhealthy mix breed dog not recognized by any major breed registry. Half the time their breeders call them Pit Bulls! They are about the height of an SBT, but weigh upwards of 100 pounds!
