American pitbull play time.

We were walking in mincinglake park by my house. Loki was on the training lead and he ran over to this muzzled dog I pulled him back, and as I got closer, the woman was like he's ok honestly. And I asked is he an actual pitbull. She said yes, they got him from a rescue years ago that said he was a staff cross, got him dna tested and he was an American red nose pitbull, he was beautiful, the woman was so sad and she was saying how people pull away and he never gets to play, because he's not allowed off the lead.

My heart broke for her, loki was chasing him around and the dog (who was called George) was loving it, he apparently had a friend and unfortunately his friend passed away. And he's missing him.

After I left she said thank you for talking to her.I feel really so upset for her, I said to her if you see me again loki can play with him any time.

I came home and had a little cry

Definitely the look on George's face when he was playing with loki, he ran around mental, as he was on an extendable lead... Poor lady being dragged around..

But she was so happy to see him like it.

It was half chain half training lead material, never seen one before. But she was just so happy to see him playing

Right enough she would need something pretty sturdy.

Maybe one day a government with some sense will scrap these 'dog racism' laws and stop the cruel treatment mandated for dogs based on what they look like. Maybe you could find a private area or garden where your dog and hers could play together?

Next time I see her I'm going to give her my number and I'll take loki to hers, so they can have a play.

i say f***k it let him off the lead and let him play with his new friend if there's no one around. the law's an ass and i won't tell if you don't.

Ahh it's not worth him running off, then him being seized. I'll go around some time and they can have a proper play.

no real pitbull owner would be going around saying they have pitbull i do wonder about silly people in the uk!!

i dont think i would want them to how many would get rid of their staffy to get a pitbull?

Ok..Steve...still I don't really care what her breed of dog was I'm more concerned with how upset she was because they didn't know, she's was an older lady and her vet said it to her...so maybe this lady has been given the wrong info...her son lives with her and is a police officer. And it's deffo an expempted dog...it's now 8 and they got the dog as a puppy from a rescue at 9 weeks old and they said it was a staff cross...and then the vet said it wasnt..and she said her vet had done a test...so maybe she was told bull...

sorry it drive me nuts because a dog have long legs and a red nose it has to be pitbull, the dog probably got no real pit in him

I'll take a photo of it next time,  It might not even be, but that's what she's been told by her vet etc. It was a lovely dog whatever it is.

bull & terriers that was the original breed then staffy, bull terrier, pitbull and even boston terrier was breed from bull & terrier lines

Labrador also has a red nose

a lot of people cross breed staffy, bull terrier, boxer with mastiff or labs to get that red nose

whats the problem with a dog with a red nose my eaus got one and its beautiful i kiss it every nite

the red nose it's not the problem, the only problem people goind saying they have pitbull

no pitts in the uk just types or bull crosses with any thing these backstreet breeders can get there hands on to make these poor dogs look like pitts

so cute!!! I love them all I'd have a load of them if I could!! Although mine made me feel awful earlier, he hates baths and I ran the water to wash my hair and his eyes literally bulged out of his head and he ran away and wouldn't come near me....made me feel horrid like I'd just beaten him.he sulked for ages.

beaus just the same got her a paddling pool in the summer she just froze she hate water she wont go out in the rain bless woudnt change for the world tho

There are pits in the UK, you wont see joe public walkng one though that is a type in nearly 99.95% of cases. its the same as there are wolf dogs etc, just some people say it is when it isnt because they were told so for a few extra $$$ when they brought the dog. a red nose pit is quite rare compared to a black or blue so it isnt conclusive at all, in fact a red nose pops up alot in retrievers and spaniels so more likeley to be a bully cross retriever.
saying all that it does prove what an ass the law is, if you have a look on the forums on how many people say "what is my dog crossed with" and the ammount of people that reply you wont now until its fully grown. those of us that have had pups know the different looks the dogs has through its first year so by the time its looking like type you have a loving family dog with mutual love and affection... what do you do? i couldnt have off loaded either of mine after a day or so let along a year.

Yep, this. The UK laws on pitbulls are basically based on guesswork. If you ask me its ridiculous. Pitbulls aren't even the problem, as we all know its the owners.

freyj4z your story made me feel ever so sorry for poor George, whatever he is. I really hope him and Loki can have a proper off lead play sometime, I'd love to see pics if it did happen!

I love how beau looks,I think my pup will look similar once she's a bit older,she also has a red nose but that's because she has french mastiff & maybe the American bulldog

I always thought a  red nose was known as a Dudley nose. I believe the Dudley terrier, now extinct, was one of the early breeds used in the development of the Staffordshire.

Thanks Fay, like I said. I don't care if the story is crap, or she's got her wires crossed or she's been given then wrong info!! What ever that poor dog is, all he wants to do is play.

he was beautiful!!! She certainly isn't some yob showing off because she has a 'pit bull type' she's just a older lady that has been told she has a pit bull. And he's exempted. 

I hope loki gets to play with him 2 and I will take lots of photos

There will defo be real pit bulls in the uk, there's people that will smuggle in anything. There was dogo Argentinas seized in the uk a while ago..

There was a dogo Argentino in Tiverton called Charlie. I'm hoping to see her again soon!!

They look amazing, ill probs never get to see 1 up close tho.
