thoughts on springpoles please
hi there, just wondering peoples thoughts on springpoles as im thinking about making one for my rocco.he is very energetic so no matter how far i walk him or throw ball, tug of war with him he doesnt tire. iv been told springpoles are great exercise for staffys is this true? the worry i have is would this be encouraging him to play ruff or become more aggressive?.thanks

I think they look great. But they need to be used right and the dogs legs should never leave the ground totally.

Re: thoughts on springpoles please
I'm making one for Bailey out the back door as I've found we have an 8ft post left over from building our garden fence !
The dog should be supervised at all times and should be built up to it gradually as most dogs won't stop! There back legs should also be on the ground at all times and when they pull down on it there front legs should be on the ground aswell.

I def like them. I've always wanted to make one for out my back garden but have never got around to it. Just as everyone has said above, just make sure his back legs are on the ground.

As all the above! They're not just good exercise, they help with flexibility & reflexes as well. Plus, they love it!

On the contarary they give a dog a good outlet for that left over energy, as long as you dont make the grab out of a toy yorkie it teaches them nothing about playing harder with other dogs. Marley has been using one for a few months now and the impact on his playng with laska is zero. Flirt poles are another good toy as well and as that involves you and the dog you both get to play together, and its real good fun. id like to say I let the little sod get it every now and then but the truth is he's quicker that me sometimes lolpetemc10 wrote: the worry i have is would this be encouraging him to play ruff or become more aggressive?.thanks
