I think they are great exercise. Just be sure that her legs can stay on the ground and I would also recommend supervising her when she is using it.

We don't have the space for Suki to have one but every dog I've known that did have one absolutley loved it.

There is a negative sterotype associated with springpoles though.

I know I was afraid every body would be against them, but im not doing it to train her for anything just for fun. she's extremely social able with other dogs and all animals she is very active just thought would be something extra for her, I don't think it will turn her aggressive

I agree with all that Jstaff says, great for burning off excess energy. There is a bad image associated with them but if used responsibly and in the way you describe Kattie then why not Big Grin

If you do get one set up, post some pics so we can see Smile

I guess the only thing I'd say (other than have fun!) is to incorporate some 'leave its' so that she doesn't get into the idea that holding on is great and she doesn't have to let go until she's had enough. Like with any tuggy based toy, and with any breed, I think it's important that you can stop the game when you want.

Wish that would work with my Flo... She won't give up her Stix unless she wants to Rolling Eyes but get your point Liz. A good reminder.

I am so glad you mentioned this, where we are renting, we have the space for one, and Pixee loves the tug rope game with us, of 'take' meaning she can lung for the rope in our hands, and we swing her round off ground, and she pulls too, till we say 'leave', which she then lets go. Theres been rope swings in the woods, with a branch for a seat, Pixee loves swinging off those for fun. Go for it, nothing wrong with this. Let me know where you get yours from and how it goes.
