I wouldn't ever consider it , but there again I'm on the property ladder so see where the need comes from. You have to feel sorry for kids these days

Re: buying a house with friends
i think it crazy also £400,000 is a lot of money to mess around with, if it was cheap flat or something probably could understand
Re: buying a house with friends
maybe renting together is ok just to get out of home and when doing college etc but to sign up to a mortgage and then find out your mates are really a bit annoying

Yes, what happens when one of them wants to move out? Or get married?
What a nightmare!

Re: buying a house with friends
it would be a bad idea if you were going to live in it but not such a bad idea if you were building up a property portfolio.
a couple of my friends have done this and it works on the rental income
both are married and there property's are with a letting agent

I think its summut done in desperation by most to get on the ladder, but rarely works for long
I started a business with my best mate yrs ago, we were really close, and had such a laugh together ... but after a couple of yrs, and work got a bit thin, the cracks soon started to show .. and I decided to let him buy me out (it folded 3mths later )

Buying never but renting is okay. I won't mix any serious financial investment or advice with friendship

Whole can of worms, so many things that can and do go wrong, OK if you can afford to buy them out, but if you could do that why go ahead with it anyway.

Re: buying a house with friends
I'd rent, but I wouldn't buy. Having said that, the other day, my friend asked me if I wanted to rent somewhere with him and his girlfriend. Considering this friend was pretty much creepy-stalking me for three years before he finally moved on... NO NO NO!

Nothing wrong with living at home. I was rich before I left home!

There is when Mr. Creepy and Annoying spies on you while you're on a computer to see what your email address is... and then emails you non-stop for the next two weeks.

I think it's a problem with the site. When I entered the link manually, it just showed the homepage of that website instead of the picture.

Nope, not blocking it - it's obviously something that, subconciously, you don't want us to see............naughty boy!
