Canon owners into photography - Canon EOS questions
Thinking of buying an EOS 60D and EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 lens, but have two questions:
1) does the 1.6 crop factor in effect turn the lens into a 27-88mm?
2) if I buy a grey import package from a UK dealer (saving about 300 quid), will I have trouble getting it serviced/repaired?
Thanks.
What EOS do you have? I was also considering a 600D.

Re: Canon owners into photography - Canon EOS questions
I have the T4i and yes to the first question. No clue about the second. I have a EF 70-300 IS for my longer shots and is a far better lens imho. For what I want, it works great. 60D is not all that different now from the T4i. 60D was the other Canon I seriously considered. I just wanted the touch screen.

Just realised i clearly know nothing about cameras- my dad offered me his canon eos as he has just updated to one with a touch screen and i said no on the basis it was too big in my hands he is selling it now so at least it will go to someone who appreciates it!

Back in the olden days when I had to make a living from it and it was all physical film, I had a few Canon EOS 1 bodies and a ridiculous amount of cash invested in L-series pro lenses.
Seems only right that I return to Canon, though I might defect into Sigma to get the 50mm f1.4 lens they do, as well.
The Nikons were always ace cameras back in the day - but more expensive than the Canons - and they seem to be just as ace today. Great cameras.
