Clever Mum! Crate cover...

Just thought I'd share this - my mum is soooo clever.

This is what Ralph's crate looked like last week...



Today it looks like this!



She was fed up with the way it looked so made a nice crate cover out of some old material and I think it looks great. I know you can buy crate covers, but this is special because she made it!

We did something similar for Ellie,she loves being cosy in her crate.

I did google crate covers, and clicked images, you should see some of the pictures of things people have made! Some of them have got curtains and all sorts!! HAHA!

Ask her to make one for me, will you? It's fantastic!

Miley has luxurious duck and down to lay on. Also a quilt to cover her cage its not too warm where she sleeps

Home made things are always more special than shop bought items, you cannot buy the personal touch

if your mum wants to make a bit of cash we would certainly buy one if she is up for making one

I will definately ask her when I see her the weekend. I promise.

Wow that's amazing when I covered Loki's cage, he actually just managed to pull the towel through the gap and start chewing it so we'd benefit from this.

That's exactly what Ralph was doing... You'll see this cover is pulled really tight under so he can't chew it. It's actually sewn under the crate, but I suggested some elastic with velcro attached to it, to pull it tight if that makes sense... That way you could take it off, but mum said why would you need to take it off. True. There's only a couple of stitches anyway, so you could just unpick those if you needed to get it off for anything.

My other half said 'That's brilliant. Why don't you spend some time with your mum learning how to do things like that instead of taking the dog to the pub with your dad?'

I use a fitted bed sheet which looks neat but nothing like your mum's great job.

what size crate is that ?? i need to get one for spike for when we get married and he stays over in the B&B with us but i dont know what size to search for on the internet ???

i have tasked my OH to try and do something similar as this for when we get our cage as it looks amazing :-)

It's a large one from this company, however, I got it nearly a year ago now, and when I wanted to get a crate cover a couple of months back, they told me that they had very slightly changed the sizes, so the crate cover they now do wouldn't fit the crate I had.

Why they did that I don't know!

Anyway, I got Ralph the large one with a divider for when he was a pup so he didn't rattle around in there!

Oh wow this looks great makes it look more tidy and also would keep them warmer in the colder months too.

Only thing is I would put money down Duke would just eat it, think it would be a good idea for us to do it to Molly's though.
