"Free to good home"
Just seen an ad for a 15 month old EBT that the owner "doesn't have the time for anymore" so it's free to good home! I don't usually get riled but its cold and I'm grumpy, so I've simply emailed...
I'm not trying to tell you how to live but please please please take this dog to an animal home or shelter. Dogs that are "free to good homes" are often picked up and used for baiting and fighting, and being a bull breed the chances are even higher. If you want the best future for the dog please get in touch with your local dogs home.
Absolutely gutted for the poor dog, the ad only went up today so hopefully there's a chance that good might be done.

Re: "Free to good home"
This is the worst part about this time of year, every year my heart breaks a little bit more for all the dogs that are given away "free to good home" or dumped on roadsides or in shelters.. And then it breaks a little more for all those that are bought as Xmas presents and then they grow up and need more time, attention and money, and are therefore dumped around February - April
well done for the message though I find it increasingly hard to bite my tongue

Well done on the message hopefully they'll listen. I know most people who are selling their puppies/dogs don't wanna hear it cos they want to make up for the money they paid, but if it's free to a good home, at least in a rescue centre they'll be looked after and all the right checks should be done. I didn't used to mind those "free to good home" ones, cos at least they weren't selling their dog for a ridiculous amount with the excuse that it's proof that someone cares. But it's risky for the dog.

Re: "Free to good home"
There should be some kind of regulations in place for free ads, I think this will get stopped though soon, or is that just wishful thinking.
Well done for sending the message, I dont even look at these things because I know I would get so upset and angry.
