My puppy Wont sleep at night.
Hi Everyone,
Molly our new baby wont sleep at night unless she is with me . Is this bad ?? Is it bad for her to sleep on my bed. Iam thinking about putting her crite in my room tonight so she is close to me, as she sleeps in the lounge room no worries cause she knows iam there.
Any advice would be appreciated

Re: My puppy Wont sleep at night.
she should really be in a crate but i think alot of the members here let their dogs on their beds. If Molly is tired enough during the day she will sleep at night. Try and play with her as much as possible and tire her out. Its your choice where Molly sleeps but when she is fully grown could be a lump on your bed and heavy on your feet etc

Re: My puppy Wont sleep at night.
Hi & welcome.
It's entirely up to you whether you let her sleep on your bed or not - two words of warning, though, if you decide to let her....
1. You'll never get her to sleep anywhere else,
2. You will be left with 2 square feet of bed, as Staffords seem to expand overnight when they get on the bed, and ease you right over to the edge!
If you want to move her crate into your room instead, then that's fine!

If you are happy with her in the bed, let her be. If you would like that to change, then yes the crate in the bedroom is a good idea. She will probably still be crying but you need to ignore it.

Re: My puppy Wont sleep at night.
I always start with the intention of my foster dogs sleeping in their own space.
Always turns into them sleeping on the bed, though - well, except for the rather overgrown GSD I had a while back.
Sending them to bed tired and freshly wee'd is often the best way of ensuring you get staff snores rather than whines.
