Anyone have this problem?
When am walking my staff, i get some dog's coming to him to play but most of the dog's just want to fight him, it has turned him really aggressive agenst dog's now and one day am worried i wont be able to control him with other dog's, i can control him now, but if i tell him to sit and stop he sit's but for a minute then he's back up barking and growling and it's kind of shameful as people stair at me like am bad. One staff ran over to him and the dog bit Marley's chin to the point it was bleeding and i picked marley up as the dog ran back for more it was hard but i managed to get marley in the clean with-out any more injury's to him. I like taking him to the park but this happen's i think i should keep him out on the street but then he isn't having as much fun What do you think? Street or carry on in the park?

Carry on in the park, but just have to be careful. It's not your fault; some dogs just turn out aggressive anyway, but even moreso when they've had so many dogs go for him. Is it definitely aggression that you see, or is he just excited/frustrated? If you don't already, you can get him a long line so that he can have a good run around, but he's still on a lead so he's safe, and you can practice getting him back to you. Are there any well-behaved, non-aggressive dogs you know? Walking Marley with a calm dog might help him a lot.

I will try that, it's only me who walk's him because everyone else is scared to take him out with his anger, it is aggression and he shows it even more when dog's jump onto me wanting a stroke he really goes mad and try's to go for the bottem on their kneck, i don't know how to solve his fear i would really like to but it's hard because i do try and calm him and bring the dog i know in slowly (he use to be fine with this dog) but as soon as this dog is near to marley he turn's and he is snapping his jaw down to get to the dog (really worryed) i blame myself sometime's for him being attacked but he is only 10/11 months and already he is really aggressive over any dog coming near, if i walk in and he can smell another dog on me he goes to bite me, i change my clothes now as soon as i get in to him. I really don't understand it is breaking my heart to see him like this and he pulls on his lead sometimes when little dog's are in the park because he doesn't want to go buy them so i have to walk the other way :-(

Re: Anyone have this problem?
Is he like that as soon as he sees the other dog, or just when near it? I mean, there's a German Shepherd I know who barks at all the other dogs, but she'll calm down if she's walked near them. Maybe you can start off with Marley on one side of you and the other owner's dog on the other side of them. So they're as far away from each other as possible. And then if they seem to be doing well, you can bring them in closer.
Don't blame yourself though. Nothing you do makes your dog aggressive. Socialising them is what you can do to lower the chances of them being aggressive, but unfortunately, some dogs take their bad experiences to heart more than others. It's nothing you've done wrong, it's just one of those things where his bad experiences have affected him. He's young, so perhaps it can be changed or improved. Still, you can't spot aggressive dogs from a mile away, you can only react to something when it happens. Hopefully others with more experience can give you some more advice.
If it makes you feel any better, having a dog-aggressive dog doesn't lessen their quality of life. Dogs don't focus on what they're missing out on, they focus on what they do have, and if he's given everythin he wants and if he's loved, then he's happy. My old Boxer was dog-aggressive because his old owners never socialised him, and he never got to so much as sniff another dog for the 7 years we had him, but he was more than happy with people

It's when the dog is near, he doesn't mind if the dog is no where near but as soon as he is in the distance of marley he doesn't like it.
He is so lovely at home he just snuggles into me and want's to play when he's awake, but as soon as someone walks in he can't stop his bum moving side to side!

Re: Anyone have this problem?
same problem we have i just tell the other dogs owners to get them on a lead if they cant control them. Miley was bitten by a lab on her nose and it bled. we stopped taking her to the park for a while then thought why should we stop her fun. We take her to the park now and still have trouble with other dogs. Miley is a freindly girl and just wants to play but some dogs are hell bent on fighting. I dont think it will ever change

Its heartbreaking mark, to think the owners let there dog's be like that and our dog's have to suffer for it. I really want a thing to come out were you have to go through training to have a dog and check's for people to have dog's because the dog's suffer badly for people being buttholes!
