Wainwright's dry food?
What do you think about this brand? I said I don't want to change any more but it's been 2 weeks since we trying convinced Debo to like his f4ds,we adding sardines, salmon mousse and he doesn't eat it. He will have few bites and leave the rest, with the mousse he won't touch it,he hates the smell. Today we added 2 tsps of wet wainwright's to his f4ds and he ate all. I'm not sure what is going to come out the other end tho

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
Star is on wainwrights puppy an seems to be doing well on it. Firm poo's, coat looking good etc. I also soak some biscuits once a day for her and she loves it. The only annoying thing I found (and asked in PAH this morning) is they only do 2kg or 15kg bags. 15kgs would last her ages at the moment and I wonder if the biscuits may go a bit stale?
I tried to put Charlie on wainwrights but he was having none of it lol. He'd nibble at it but wasn't overly interested and would quite happily leave it. He will pinch some of Stars tho. Worse than my kids, always want what the other has lol.
I can post a copy of the ingredients etc for u if u like? I have a couple of bags here with different flavours

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
Both of ours had wainwrights puppy and then Tilly moved onto Wainwrights adult , it is a good mid price food , we had no problems, I only moved to Fish 4 dogs as Tilly had got a bit bored with it and we thought the F4D was even better

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
Wainwrights is a decent mid range dry food. I had Zeus on it for a few months before we changed him onto F4D. I'm now in the process of changing Zeus to Wafcol, as the new F4D dry food isn't settling well with him, after 3 weeks on it, hes barely poo-ing and when he does poo, its almost watery.
The good thing about Wainwrights is that it comes in a variety of different flavours, so you can change it up everytime you get a new bag just to keep Debo guessing.
Don't forgot to use discount code: P3T5FTN for 15% off and it gives you free delivery also. Personally, I prefer to reserve & collect so the 15% will still work on that.

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
Thank you for the code. I think F4Ds is great, it finally got Debo's tummy under control. First poop after adding wet weinwrights was firm, even better then after sardines. Will keep mixing those two brands. If he get bored will change flavour of the wet food. Would really like to avoid changing his main food.

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
So I think we finish our journey with F4Ds here. DEbo doesn't want to eat it . I'm not happy. He's ok,he will eat any thing else. He just can't stand the fishy smell. Will try him on wainwright's from tomorrow.

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
So today for breakfast I've added 30g of wainwrights to f4ds. Debo loved it,cleaned the bowl in sec. The first poo after was not great,my OH said it was 7 out of 10. With a topping and foam at the end. Hope it will improve. It's a first day so expected that. Do you know any good food based on potatoes instead of rice, for puppies? Asking just incase.

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
As Pixee is not a puppy and an adult, she is on the wainwrights trays, loves them to bits. Prefers those to f4gs. Although since I brought a massive big bag of f4ds after loving the samples, she wont eat them in her bowl, but if I put them in her kong with cheese in, she will eat them, so thats for mid day to keep her happy. Gives her something to do, digging them out.

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
Mine were both on Wainwrights, both loved it. They are on raw diet now though but they have Wainwrights salmon n potatoe dry most evenings, not much if it, for eg they had a small cupful tonight with some blended carrots and their yumega oil.

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
Raw diet. It really is good. If all else fails, go bk to basics... They wouldn't be eating anything but raw in the wild!
U would be surprised at the sheer enthusiasm to eat raw tbh.

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
I don't know why but I'm fighting with that idea, not because I don't like it. Simply because I'm afraid that I will do something wrong . I will give it one more try. Well Debo like the wainwright food mixed with f4ds. Can I use wainwright dry food ( around 30-40g) as topping for f4ds?

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
They are both 'complete foods' tbh I'd stop the f4d and just give him the Wainwrights. Put a raw egg with it or spoonful of natural
Yogurt or even mashed carrots, my 2 adore it, but I only give a cupful with something else, like egg or carrots etc.
Raw really is good tbh. It's not hard to do, it's less costly and mire benefits x

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
So I think we're doing good on wainwrights. The first day his poo was very soft, but since then no problem. Today he'll get 50/50. And he's pooing less then on f4ds

No
Majority of raw is given defrosted, thus the freezing process kills most paracites.
Nothing is 100% but, they don't gave can openers in the wild !

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
I mentioned feeding raw to the vet yesterday and she said more people are choosing this for their dogs but they have seen an increase in salmonella in the stools so you have to be careful with young children and elderly around.

I'll agree with this , unless they are doing loads through the night and eating it all then there is definitely much less pick up time in the garden and a lot more solids since we went back to the Wainwrights (lamb / rice adult small kibble) Tilly was a bit of a shaky start but they are both eating it now in their own time

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
Debo's is still funny about food in the morning,so today we added some wet wainwright. I think is too much for him. The smell .... and really softy poo. Can't understand-he can drink water from puddles, sometimes he pickes up some thing from the ground and he's fine. New food-revolution!

Re: Wainwright's dry food?
So,finger crossed,we on the right path. I've checked that the tray of wet wainwrights is different then the pouches. I've started to mix his dry wainwrights with wet pouches and all is good. He still sometimes eats less in the morning but finishes up in the evening.
