full staffy?

i have just got some pics of chaos's mam and dad could someone tell me if the look full staff i am not 100% sure they are :S

Possibly not. Both are very 'lightweight' and not 'stocky' the way I would expect a Stafford to look. However, that could be because neither are well bred staffs rather than crosses.

I take it neither are registered?

they seem too tall and skinny to me :S

If he isn't registered then you can never say ya or nay. Xx

Some staffs are 'pure' staffies but aren't the best bred and some are slimmer and taller.

Also some staffs take on more of the terrier look which to me is what these dog have

just found out the bitch is 100% pure staffy but they are unsure about the dad as he is lanky and was a rescue

How old are mom & dad? Dad looks very similar to Ledger when I got him from rescue I was told he was 2 but think he was younger and he has filled out a bit over the last year

IF he was a rescue he shouldn't have been bred from.........

it was accidental they had the mum and got dad he wasnt from a shelter he was off some one they knew only he had a bad life and then they found out she was carrying pups mum 4 dads 3 years old

I think what Ella means is that if the dog was from a shelter it would have been neutered

Correct me if I am wrong but all the advise I have learnt is from here, if the dog hasn't got papers/registered then it is a cross as you can never prove other wise. Hence why a KC registered dog cost more than one where the parents history isn't known (BYB). Thats my brief sum up of it anyway.

Which means that whether the parents look like staffs, without papers you have a cross if this isn't the case then why certain arguments about taking dogs abroad.

Surely, to have a full staffy, whether it looks like one or not it needs papers and to be registered to prove it?

Otherwise I could say Moo is a full staff?!

that sounds right to me only i dont wonna say hes crossed if hes not but i cant prove hes pure breed either if that make any sense because a cross to me is 2 separate breeds, he may well be cross its not going to change anything i would just prefure to know lol

hes 13" roughly from floor to highest point on back hes was 19 weeks monday

Mate, I wouldn't be concerned. You have a staffy there, and a nice one at that. If you where to consider breeding then being registered is a must but you have a lovely pup Xx

Do you know the staffy standard? he isn't small the standard for an adult is 14-16". Staffs aren't big dogs

sometimes when i look at him he looks like a wierd staffy looking jack russel haha if you understand that haha

If he's 13" don't worry about it he's certainly far from small

To show him you will need his history and he will need to be KC registered.

Have you been to the vets yet about his missing ball?

good im at vets next week with chaos :S to try and find the 2nd testicle :S
its just not there at all i have checked higher up too

Some dogs don't have 2 descended balls until they are a good few months old, don't panic yet!

seriously don't worry, check up at the vets should soon put you at ease, but no you won't be able to feel it as it will still be inside the body

They don't look like your typical Staffs, the short and muscular ones, but you can get the slightly taller and thinner ones that are pure Staff, I'm sure. Even so, you can't be sure he's not crossed, but he's a gorgeous little puppy and I'm sure you love him regardless

And 13" isn't too small, it's probably big for his age, but Loki is already bigger than the typical Staff and still has growing to do, so never mind you won't be able to show him if he's not KC registered though I don't think, unless you show him in just the ones that are for fun.

He's still got another 7 months or so to get taller & then he'll start to fill out.

You can't show him, I'm afraid. He isn't registered.

Am defo no expert but diesel's mum is kc registered and her dad looked pretty full staffy, and a think she looks quite slender and leggy (altho this could apparently be due to early spaying) but her sis is a good few inches shorter and a lot more stalky, i posted pics a while back caused couldnt believe the difference inthem, wouldnt think they were from the same litter. So i'd say they can come in all shapes and sizes

janey just because a dog doesnt have papers does not mean it is a cross.

They look staffy to me, some are quite atheltic, i seen some nice pics of this type, i'll try and find them

They are a team for DSA, doing very well too.

if he's only 19 weeks he may and probably will change in look as well, maybe even size. we thought Jellybean looked like a Staff/Jack Russell cross when she was that age, now we are pretty sure she is Staff/Lurcher cross - our dog trainer said she is definitely part Lurcher, just on one look at her.

She is not a pure breed, of course, and we'll never know exactly what she is. We're just waiting until she's fully grown to see what she looks like most. We know one thing, she's super cute! Anyway, it might be worth waiting until Chaos is older to sort out what's in there.

And of course Chaos is super cute too, love that little face!!!

At that age they are going thru teething, they will look weird, ears go weird, they get lanky, skinny, but it settles. My pup is 8mths now and turning into a lovely looking dog, he's getting chunky and his head is going more bully...it will happen, it's still early days for ur pup, he's still a wee baby.

When i looked at the 1st few picks, i thought they looked simular , bad eye day.

The daddys pic, although not as cut muscle wise, i thought head shape height and so on

so were do i go to or what do i do to get chaos into that sort of thing?
