Re: Play Fighting
no , just keep your limits and teach him to be calm commands like sit and stay work well so if you get him over excited you stop the action so he knows enough is enough

I agree with Dave, they love rough n tumble but u need to be able to get him to stop when u say so. When I play rough with my 2, Wgeb it gets too much, I shout 'stop, calm' then finish up with a cpl of basic commands, sit, paw etc.
Works a treat with my 2.

Re: Play Fighting
Like others said already. Just make sure they stop when you say. Also, I don't let my youngsters do it. If anything happens, its on me and not the dog.

You MUST have a way of making sure you can stop it dead when ever you want to .. most important

Re: Play Fighting
As above but to add its good for bonding as well as excercise. A 10 min tumble is worth an hours walk and gives almost all muscle groups a work out.

Lol I love it when my 2 go frog !
Usually my hubby has a scrap with them both but as Tanks is getting bigger my hubby struggles lol 1 night he was licked n nibbled to death, was do funny and their tails were wagging like crazy !
Ruff n tumble controlled is great for those rainy days that the silly staffy won't go out ! X

Re: Play Fighting
Agree with all of the above, we don't let Dex do it with the kids (he seems to know not to having lived with a large amount of children in his previous home but we are not going to get complacent regardless) and he has to stop when we say no more. It's fun, as long as you are in charge of stopping it and setting limits. Try getting under a blanket and rolling about, see if he tries to find you. I love playing that with Dex, we say "argh a monster" while we under there and he's jumping on us, and he obliges with play snarls the loon
