Did not Expect that...

Yesterday I fed Loki his first taste of raw food. Lamb heart. He loved it. It was disgusting, it made a horrible squelching sound and it was gone in five seconds, with him wondering where the rest of his food is

Today I gave him raw liver. Oh...my god. I have never seen him refuse to eat anything. He sniffed it for five minutes and just looked up at me, begging me to give him anything but this. So I emptied it out and put his dry food in and it took him ten minutes to eat it all because he could still smell the liver. Ha, what a fool didn't know he'd ever refuse to eat anything. I guess it's a good thing I don't feed him on a purely-raw diet, he doesn't seem to be a fan in general, but he definitely loves the hearts

Bless him.. Steff will only eat certain raw food too.. Loves chicken necks, pig trotters and lamb shanks, refuses any organs.. Funny little dogs they are.. I wish she would eat it all.. I would love to get her on an all raw diet.

We don't feed raw but do occasionally give her a treat. Haven't found anything she won't eat yet.

A lot of dogs don't take to the taste of raw liver! Dempsey will only eat it if it's either mixed with some heart (which means cutting everything up which I hate doing) or if I drop it in boiling water & take it straight out again.

Tali wont eat liver either she despises it but will eat heart. Strange really!

I gave him another heart and I think it was too much for him; for a couple of seconds he made a weird breathing noise (not choking) and then started hiccuping. Hm. He did seem to try to swallow it whole (sigh). Maybe cutting it up will help?

We tried Rocky with some raw lambs heart the other day and he loved it, will give it as a treat too on the odd occasion.
