1. Dogs age?
--- 18 months

2. Male or Female?
--- Female

3. Breed? (*pure bred or crossbred)
--- Staffy but with no papers so I can't be 100% sure (I didn't know what I know now when I was looking for a dog. But I would not change her for anything in the world...:-) Just that the "breeders" were exactly the kind who fill in the rescues:-( )

4. Adopted as an adult dog or raised from a *puppy? (*between 7-12 weeks)
--- 8 weeks

5. Most prominent behavioural complaint(s)?
--- Can run away to greet people & dogs; exuberant and jumping up at people sometimes; weak recall when excited; but overall very sweet and getting better!!!!! :-)

Behavioural problems research (QUESTIONNAIRE) Empty Re: Behavioural problems research (QUESTIONNAIRE)

Post by starling89 Tue Nov 06 2012, 03:53

1. Dogs age? 5 years

2. Male or Female? male

3. Breed? (*pure bred or crossbred) Schipperke cross

4. Adopted as an adult dog or raised from a *puppy? (*between 7-12 weeks) Adopted as adult (3 years old).

5. Most prominent behavioural complaint(s)? Severe Seperation Anxiety. Would destroy things, bark, pee and poo (in house/car/crate) if left alone or chew his feet til they bled if really stressed out. With medication and training however he now has very mild anxiety and can be left alone for the day (and is no longer on medication unless I'm going away for a few days). He also had fear aggression towards men (fine with women) and could not be around children running or playing or he would give chase and bite their ankles- but again with training this is no longer an issue.

1. Dogs age? 5yrs

2. Male or Female? male

3. Breed? (*pure bred or crossbred) cross breed 'pig dog' (a Blue Heeler/Pit Bull crossed probably with Huntaway/Greyhound)

4. Adopted as an adult dog or raised from a *puppy? (*between 7-12 weeks) adult dog (3.5 years)

5. Most prominent behavioural complaint(s)? Aggression. Had been previously used as pig hunting and guard dog. Had territorial aggression (would guard yard and back of car), aggression towards strangers (esp. men), our pet pig, cats and towards other dogs (especially other males).

Is now much better with training - and living peacefully with other cats, our pig and livestock. No longer as aggressive towards strangers unless he is provoked or feels threatened (e.g. injection time at the vets). He can be around other dogs now - although he will not back down from a fight if another dog acts aggressively towards him.

Age. 5.5 years.
Female.
Purebreed SBT.
Got as 7W puppy.
Stubborn. Very disobedient, but in a nice way. When walking on the lead, if she doesn't want to go somewhere, won't go.

Age 4 years.
Female
Purebreed SBT.
Adopted at 8M.
Very high prey drive and will chase anything that moves. Dog aggresive. Jumping up at visitors. Extremely vocal when excited.
However, we know her limitations and work with them.

Both dogs are fantastic and we love them to bits Love Struck
