Charlie's new friends Empty Charlie's new friends

I took Charlie up to Central Park today and he made two new friends. One was a gorgeous tiger brindle 3 month old staffy bitch, and the other was a huge 11 month old rotti male. Now as I've said before, rotties scare the * out of me, but this one was such a big softy. He was literally laid on his back on the grass with his paws in the air with Charlie and Bella (the staffy bitch) clambering all over him! He's totally opened my eyes to rotties, he was absolutely lovely. Me and the women that owned them stood and chatted and the 3 of them were playing for about half an hour. It was so nice to see charlie getting to play like that. I mentioned the forum to the staffy owner and she said she'd come on. So if a woman called Fran from Plymouth comes on with a 3 month old brindle bitch called Bella, thats her. Charlie is zonked out in his crate now, all that playing wore him out! Smile

I tried but they're all completely blurred cos the dogs wouldnt stay still long enough. They were going mad with each other. It was really nice for them, and it was nice to find other owners who didnt mind charlie jumping all over their dogs. He loves playing and if he's off lead and sees another off lead, he wants to play. Not all owners are happy with that tho.

I'm sometimes one of those! Laughing I've lost count of the times I've been letting Dempsey play with his boomer ball or just enjoying a quiet walk & a dog has come pelting over, so out of control, and the owner plodding along with an inane grin on his/her face saying "Ah, isn't that nice, they're playing!" Then Dempsey decides to get all bossy, pins the other dog down & the owner screams in my ear to 'do something'. Some people just don't want to be isturbed, but I agree, it is nice when you can let dogs play. That's why I like to let Dempsey play with his GSD friend.

Cant believe its a rotti! Especially as I'm norm terrified of them! I'll try to get some decent pics next time, the rotti is huge, he makes Charlie look small and Charlie is massive for his age. I'll def try to get a pic of them together Smile

I wont let Charlie go running up to a dog that is playing ball or anything like that, he'd prob try and nick it! But if a dog is running around off lead with no ball, I let him say hello. I always try and ask the owners if its ok first if Charlie gives me a chance.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing. You understand staffords, and you'd probably also understand a bully.

It's the owners who just let their dogs run rampant without any thought about what might happen if the other dog isn't friendly.

I wish Logan had a few staffy/bully mates! Im the same Shontelle, always ask before i let Logan have a snff just to make sure the others dog/s are friendly. I used to have a Belgian Shepard who wasnt friendly and the amount of dogs she would try and get at because they were off lead was unreal! People learned tho, when they used to see us they'd put there dogs straight on the lead!
I dont want Logan to have any negative experiences, only positive ones!

thats awesome! Bruiser has one friend Mia who is a deaf english bull terrier......... our neighbour has 2 staffies, but one is really aggressive so i don't let Bruiser socialise with either of them just incase the 'friendly' one could also become aggressive..........its sad really Sad

Arrr thats well nice and what I want for Blue.........He doesn't help himself as he wants to batter other dogs.
But was hoping if I got a female staffy rescue they could become close and play together.
Try and get some pics again the next time you go. Would love to see the pics

I will get some pics next time. I'm hoping to see the rotti again. Him and Charlie played lovely together and his owner was really nice. I want to get a bitch too Blue. I'm gonna wait til Charlie is about 18 months. I think he'll love a playmate Smile
