Snorting Empty Snorting

Post by mrsxg Mon Oct 22 2012, 20:01

Hi folks!

Lola is scaring me tonight, she's snorting like she can't catch her breath, then she's fine.
Then she starts snorting again. When she breathe it's like she's snoring

Shes ok in herself a bit cuddly & sleepy but ok.
Eating & drinking fine. Peeing & pooping normally.

Any ideas?? xxx

Sorry to hear about Lola. Does she have a temperature (I can always tell with Kuchar because his ears are hotter than normal)

If she doesn't seem distressed then pop her to the vet tomorrow for peace of mind

Well I was thinking in terms of infection but if there's no temp then that is probably not the cause.

Has she eaten anything that might have got stuck in her throat, or sniffed anything that might have got up her nose? (You should have heard Kuchar when he kindly unstuffed a feather pillow!)

Dog breeds with shorter muzzles often do that. Unless there are other health concerns (temperature, sickness, bum gravy, lethargy etc) I wouldn't worry.

Ah OK - sorry (I never was noted for being quick in the uptake!)

Well I looked at that link and it seemed to be due to nasal mites (eeack), but at least there is treatment for it.

Tank snorts a lot specially when asleep and cause he's constantly nose to the floor sniffing he gets things up and stuck to his nose.

He sneezes a lot too, nose butting the floor in the process !

Can u see any debris in her nose ? I've once or twice had to remove a cpl of bits from Tanks nostril cause he's a nose Hoover.
