about a week, he does stick his head in bushes and stuff when we are out

It could be a small cyst caused by a bite/sting or rubbing against something that's scratched or irritated his head. Does it bother him?

Rocky has something on his side which looks very similar, his is from an insect bite he got last summertime and he still has a bit of a soft bump there now. It is very gradually going down though.

Mine have gotten those as well and they normally are gone within a few weeks. Keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't grow or become irritated. If that happens you might need to consult the vet.

Looks like a cyst to me as well. Just keep an eye on it and if you have a vet appointment coming up have them take a look
