sore toes
Lola had a sore in between her toe, which was like a boil but very red. I took her the vets and he gave her some ant-biotics and some steroids, she had the course and it healed, but not totally, I took her back and he said it was fine. It has erupted again between her toe, but also a few on the back paws now and they look really inflammed. I'm going to take her back to the vets, but they weren't that great of a help the first time. The vet didn't think it was over licking of feet due to stress and neither did I, as I am at home all the time. Admittedly she may be licking in the middle of the night which I wouldn't know about, but in the day she doesn't lick. Tried putting a sock on her like the vets said, but she just pulls them off. Any idea what could be causing it and how to stop it?

Re: sore toes
If your vet has nothing new to say this time I'd also seek a 2nd opinion. In the meantime you could bathe her paws in salty water which might help to soothe any discomfort.

Agree with the second opinion. If you have to have the paw wrapped an ace bandage works much better than a sock.

Going to get a second opinion, as this can't keep happening, her poor toes are so sore. Tried the salt water, but Lola's a bugger, she just doesn't like to be messed with, that's always been her dislike, she hates to be examined.

Re: sore toes
Could you try bribing her with some treats ?? Really hope you can get it sorted with the new vet.

You don't need to muck her paws about - just stand each foot in a bowl of salty water for about a minute. Then pat dry with some paper towels.
