lower back pain ?!?!
We're going to the south coast for a week and really looked forward to taking my little pocket rocked for some long runs on the beach but last night she didn't behave right so the other half took her to the vets first thing in the morning and it turns out she strained her lower back. I had quite a few dogs so far but never heard of this one before. Does anyone here have any experience of this? What's likely to have caused it? She is on anti inflammatory pills and strictly no exercise at the moment. Poor thing, she'll go nuts!

With their energy levels and pain tolerance they are subject to strains. It's not a serious issue it just means they pushed a little to hard. Let it rest a bit and slowly get back into things.

Give her the chance to rest up for a few days until 100% again, she could have just twisted a bit wrong (just as we can). I'm sure she will be fine after some rest.

Exactly what jstaff said, my girl is very athletic she jumps alot and chase her ball she has strained her back afew times anti inflams help but i also try some good old fashion massage with arnica gel and some heat if you can get a warm not hot water bottle on his back when he is laying down it does help people think i,m mad but i spent 30yrs working in sports massage and holistic alternative therapies and use alot of those principles on my dogs aways works for me x

Re: lower back pain ?!?!
Thanks everyone, yes it probably is her willingness to go from standstill to 1mil miles an hour in two steps and desire to be everywhere simultaneously that caused her the injury.
Not being able to jump up on the sofa is what made me think something was wrong but I though she ate something she shouldn't have and it was causing her abdominal pain so that's what I rubbed gently....ah well, live and learn..!
