Excited wee's and tail chasing.
Hi guys,
So Bella is getting along really well such a happy girl, obedient and affectionate just lovely, BUT she has started incessantly chasing her tail. Is this normal behaviour or is she irritated my her bum or any other area back there?? She also has a tendancy to empty her bladder in extreme excitement. She doesn't do this all the time though which is why I was worried about cystitis and someone also mentioned her tail chasing might be linked? She rarely does it when either myself or my partner come home from being out but does does when meeting ppl in the street.
Puppy classes are going really well but she is terribly distracted and just doesn't listen to commands when we're there or out, is this something she will grow out of? She is very obedient at home though but new people coming into the house or when we're out she is just uncontrollably excited which can be embarrassing at times!
Thanks for any help x

Tail chasing , not a major issue but try to distract her with a toy or another activity.
The peeing .... Omg I get this with my girl 15 mths old. She will pee when my hubby gets home from work , she gets so super hyper excited !
And when we meet random ppl in the street (unless shes had a pee beforehand)
I find myself pre-warning ppl ! They just laugh it off.
It's a sign of submission, so, she's not being naughty by doing it, best to try n ignore her till calm, then greet. (preferably outside) !

Zeus too does the tail chasing, which I've just started to stop as I didn't realise it was a problem.
But the peeing.. Zeus does it everytime he meets someone new! He pee'd on a guys feet in the park who was wearing sandles recently

Re: Excited wee's and tail chasing.
It all sounds quite typically puppy behaviour. Try to kerb the tail chasing though, not a good sign. Try to distract with toy or game a stuffed Kong would be great, do not pay it attention with laughting at it or saying "stop that"
Tail chasing can become a sign of obsessive behaviour or compulsive disorder.
