Excited wees! Empty Excited wees!

Post by michellemartin Sun Dec 29 2013, 12:07

Has anyone else had the problem with their puppy getting over excited and weeing on people?! He had never done it before until the last week (he is now 16 weeks). We had just taken him out in the garden for the toilet and he did a poo, he came in and my dad gave him a fuss and he did a wee all up his leg!! Then again yesterday we were having visitors so I made sure we took him out before they arrived, and again when he got a fuss he did another little wee on my friends leg! It's obviously not a huge issue I'm sure he's just over excited, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with their pup! X

Bane only did this on one occasion when there was a lot of family around at once! We took him out when the first couple of people arrived, he weed and came back in only to wee on the floor again...so he went back out for a few minutes to calm down. Then he did it again with the next lot of people and the next lot too!

Luckily he managed to miss the legs and feet but poor carpet Big Grin We do the same of ignoring him when we come in now and then pay attention either when he goes off to do something by himself or when hes calming sitting and waiting Smile

Yes Chloe does this! (Although I haven't noticed it for a couple of months so maybe she's grown out of it)

Thanks everyone. I'll try getting people to ignore him until he calms down next time and hopefully we won't have any more embarrassing incidents! Smile x

It happens. Pups don't have full control of their bladders and excited weeing (or fear weeing) can be expected. They do grow out of it as their bladder muscles become stronger.

I have just waved goodbye to my poodle/shih tzu cross, who I was looking after for 10 days.

His response when his handler came to collect him - a huge excited wee. Everywhere.  Laughing

Hi Sasha is the same although I must say that if everyone ignores her or I distract her she is better. She used to be really bad at one stage I couldnt get dressed until I wad ready to walk out the door or she would wee all over my uniform, she even wee'd over my friends ugg boots one timewhich didn't go down too well. My friend now insists that she is either in the garden or in another room when she visits because the boots were ruined. Needless to say she doesnt visit often now because I wont seclude sasha as shes part of our family, you wouldnt put a baby in the garden just because they wee'd on you. It does get better as they mature but I think it may be just a staffie thing they do get excited with anyone they just want to say hello lol
