Re: giving blood tomoz
Well done. I really take me hat off to people who donate blood.
I had a horrible experience giving blood. Only did it once and never again. We had a blood drive at work and I decided to donate. The people from the blood bank came and did it. Wasn't bad, despite my absolute hate of needles.
Anyhow, about a month later they came back. When it was my turn, and front of all my colleagues they said they couldn't take my blood because there was something wrong wrong with it. Ok, so there I was completely freaked out and no one was able to tell me what the problem was (and other people automatically assume the worst). This was a Friday, so I tried getting hold of the blood bank that did the testing. The lady who did the testing on my blood wasn't in that day, so no answer. She was only back at work the following Wed, so I had a few days in which to completely freak out, also starting the think the worst.
Turns out I have some extra protein in my blood (same as my dad), and this protein can make other people sick, while it keeps us from getting sick. Only had the flu once in my life, nothing else. But because they had no tact I have never done it again, and never will (unless some family member or someone really close needs it, assuming they can use it).

Re: giving blood tomoz
1st time i went my iron was low
I have given 3 times, would be 5 but that Hijama treatment I have been having is classed as acupuncture so I have to wait 4 months afterwards. Have lst treatment in sept.
They have changed it again Steve. Men now can give blood every 3 months not 4.

I still haven't got my key ring. Everytime I go they don't bring them. Did they send you yours or did you pick it up.
Have you had a go of the new chairs yet?

Re: giving blood tomoz
I ask them everytime I go and they say oh we have none left.
We only just got the chairs in blackburn. You sit in it then they tilt it back when giving blood then back down again when your finished. There better as they take up allot less room. Was about 15 beds before now they have 25-30 chairs, so allot more people are able to give blood
Well done Steve! Gonna get back into it once my treatment finishes

Personally, I think it's the best possible donation you can ever give. You know full well that your blood is going on to help someone else.
