The blood bank's coming to Northampton general next month (I think) so I might give it a go.

I have a donor card and used to donate every time I got my letter, but I've had lots of op's and they wont let me give some for a while

I wish I could. My sister was in intensive care and needed a blood transfusion a few years ago after having her middle daughter. They won't let me donate because of my weight

I've gone to give blood before and been told that I can't because of my weight. When you get to the final question on that site and passed them all it does mention weight
Please note: You must weigh over 50kg (7st 12lb) to be able to give blood.

I'm about 10lbs short of giving blood I'm only 5'4" but its still a bit low for that height. been trying for ages to put on weight but it refuses to stay lol.

It's ok being able to eat whatever I like but the down side is if I get sick, even a 24 hour bug, my weight can drop rapidly and its a nightmare to put back on. Would be good to be able to swap metabolism with people for a while

haha i could only get throu about 3 questions without getting refered to the helpline
basicly if you done anything ie tattoo taken perscription drugs not hrt or birth control been out of the country in the last year it not straight forward lol

done it i think everyone who can do it they should especially parents

whoohoooo men can give blood 4 times a year i maybe able to get upto the Diamond Award

The US has a minimum weight requirement as well. You also can't give if you have had a tat in the last year, had certain illnesses not just HIV or have traveled to certain countries in the last year.
