Hi everyone
my baby girl is doing really well, we have only had her a week 2morrow, she poos and wees in the garden, only a few accidents in doors, shes eating well, infact all is well

BUT LOL

Last night I went to bed and put her in her bed next to my side on the floor, she was ok for about an hour than woke up and wanted to get up with me. I gently layed her down and she was ok for half an hour and then the same thing happened, this went on for 2 hours until I gave up oooppss!

then cos I was so tired I let her sleep with me , and I kept waking up with her snuggled round my neck,.
HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP LOL COS ITS NEARLY BED TIME AGAIN

That's where you went wrong!

Tbh I don't have my dog sleep in my room, and that's one of the reasons! Do you really have to have her sleep in your room?

Moo slept in her bed on the floor when I first got her, she wasn't allowed on the furniture, well, it didn't last long, but I encouraged her up. Nothing beats a staffy snuggle (unless they hog the bed, which does happen Laughing )

Yes, she'll cry - probably for 3 or 4 nights. But after that she'll be happy to stay in her own bed.

As Janey says, you have to make a decision - have her in your room with her trying to get up on your bed, or have her in a different room & lose a couple of nights sleep. If you keep letting her up to keep her quiet then that's where she'll stay for life! Big Grin

You will have to decide. If you still want her in your room you could use a crate. We did that for Suki for a week or so but she has slept on our bed ever since.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY lol when I went to bed last night I put her in her bed with my dressing gown in it and she settled straight away, My boy Kai was at the bottom of my bed on the floor which he has always done. Half 12 she woke up,Kai wanted to get out of the bedroom lol and she had done a poo, so I took them both in the garden to do their business, cleared up her poo, Kai went back to bed . I bought her bed down and put her in it,left her in the front room and shut the door, went to bed and didn't hear another thing.

Got up this morning, and she was asleep, NO not in her bed my my washing basket lol which has quite high sides and I forgot I put a blanket in it last night by mistake lol bless her , o yeah she had done a poo in the front room but thats the last of my worries.

I think we have cracked it hopefully sorry for the long post but Im chuffed with her, so tonight do I put her in her bed, or shall I put my dressing gown in my washing basket where she slept last night xxx Big Grin

As said before, start as you mean to go on...It applies for everything.

Personally, I would settle her in her own bed. Because you if you don't want her to sleep in it as an adult then don't encourage now. She may get up and go in the washing basket but you haven't told her it's ok to do so. Eventually she will realise her bed is her place to sleep.
