Night time alert Empty Night time alert

Post by JAY55 Tue Jul 17 2012, 05:42

Hi, my 11 month old SBT is not very alert at night. When he sleeps, the fella snores louder than fat albert and doesn't wake up to surrounding noise. The reason I noticed is because we have a chihuahua at home and she's very very conscious of what's going on 24/7. Please share advice if your staffy has this same problem at wits end

I can't say that Zeus has.. he wakes up at every little sound, it can be a pain sometimes when we've just managed to get him to sleep and he wakes up because someone closes a door too hard.. sorry!

I would consider yourself lucky to be honest. Suki is up at the hint of a noise. She doesn't get overly excited but she will stick her head up.

Diesel is always super alert at night, slightest noise abd she's up ! Tank however couldn't give a rats backside, he's much more chilled out.

I dont see either as a prob or issue, staffys are great big lumps or snoring farting love, not the best watchdog in the world lol !

Tilly is exactly the same , if we had a burglar , by the time you have poked and prodded her and she's finished stretching he'd be long gone Laughing

Tyson is fairly alert. He does react to strange noises and I have no doubt he will react to sounds of an intruder but he can make me crazy reacting to errand cats in the neighbourhood. For the most part he sleeps soundly.

Post by Buster's_Mum Fri Jul 20 2012, 11:05

Buster sleeps like a log - a snoring log! He doesn't wake up to noises, although he does wake up if I have to get up in the night, but he very rarely gets off his bed unless he hears me going downstairs. LuLu hears everything - she woke us up one night barking when someone was trying to break into our house! Surprised (we didn't have Buster at the time) But she does sometimes bark at slight sounds which can be annoying, she does seem to be getting better since having Buster though. Buster did scare us to death one night as he started doing his big proper scarey bark which I have heard only then and when we encountered the shopping trolley in the field. I don't know what he was barking at, but I have never woken up so quick!! hypnotised He barked about 3 times, then lay back down and went back to sleep Rolling Eyes

If only. Loki wakes up whenever he hears the kitchen door open, cos it means someone is downstairs and he loves greeting people. Not to mention, whenever he wakes up, he'll either decide he wants a drink or the toilet.
