Sad Cooked chicken bone

Post by mrsxg Sun Jul 08 2012, 18:52

Hi all Smile
We're on holiday at my mum and dads and a cooked chicken leg bone fell on the floor and she had it before we had a chance to stop her!
Should I be concerned??
She seems ok just now and I will keep an eye on her x

Agree with Dave. Hopefully she'll be ok - was it a wing or a thigh?

I would be slightly less woried about a leg bone, but you should still keep a close eye on her for the next two or three days.

Anything unusual, phone the vet & explain.

I'm reallt glad I don't eat meat - there's no chance of accidents in the house with cooked bones!

Don't beat yourself up - it happens!

Someone I know on a GSD forum left a whole cooked chicken on the side to cool & the dog ate the whole lot. She was fine, but had the runs for a couple of days!

No idea what caused it. He just gets the odd bad tum every now & again. It usually goes with starving for 24 hours & then bland food for a day or two, but I ended up this time getting some Science Plan i/d food. A couple of handfulls of dry yesterday morning & two cans of wet last night & he's right as rain today.
