Tommy's spotty groin - any advice
Hello all , we've just noticed something on Tommy around his groin that looks a little like warts , does anybody have a clue what it might be. I can't be 100% sure but we think these have appeared over the last few days, definitely no longer than a week, and the only thing different is that he has been out into the big bad world yesterday and in some long grass.
He often settles himself on the grass in our back garden and hasn't had a problem in the few weeks we've had him so wouldn't be a grass allergy ??
This last pic is just in his pit for front right paw, can't be sure it's the same thing but found it when giving him a good look over, can't find anything anywhere else

Zeus had the same sort of problem on one side
Turned out to be when he was out he was cocking his leg up against the stingy Nettles on the fence. I used sudocrem on him it was all cleared up after 4 days

Yes, could be nettles or just little puppy acne! Try some sudocrem & see if it helps. You could also give him some piriton syrup.

Tank has this too, as caryll said puppy acne.
Tanks crop up in random places, it's partly to do with their immune systems still growing as they are still young pups. Tank is only 16 wks. His tend to disappear on their own.
If they look sore try sudocrem, the one under his arm tho... Maby a insect bite ? Not sure.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I popped him down the vets at 15.40 , he though it was either mites or an allergic reaction so we start with the mite treatment and he has given him some Stronghold, if that doesnt help then we explore the allergic reaction route. I said to my OH about Sudocreme or E45 but she thought they looked like warts and thought that the cream could spread them so we left alone.
Think we will try some sudocreme before another trip to the vet anyway if it doesn't clear up

Would go with the ever reliable Sudocreme too. Looks like a nettle rash or reaction to something. Do you have any Piriton ? just to help with the calming down.

Now the vet has give him something i'd best see if that works first but these are muy next avenues. I asked the vet about piriton , anti hystamines etc and he nade the statement that they do use them but generally they rarely work so mostly its steroids ???

Our Polly has a grass and pollen allergy she often gets this kind of rash, our vet gives her piriton first and only goes for steroids if they don't get any better. The first time she had the rash he scraped for mites and as the rash was very bad she had steroids and piriton together as well as antibiotics, and we had strict instructions to stop the steroids if the rash got worse as if it was being caused by mites the steroids would make it much worse very fast. I don't use sudocrem after she coated my bed pillow in it after the first and only time trying to get it off herself
Polly tends to get hers after walking in long grass out and about, the grass in our garden is kept short and it doesn't seem to have any effect on her
I hope you get your poor little baby sorted out quickly.

Re: Tommy's spotty groin - any advice
it doesn't seem to be bothering him , just wondered if there was some difference (other than its a lot longer between the grass outside and the grass in our garden) Going to see how he is in the morning

Re: Tommy's spotty groin - any advice
Our vet thinks that Polly has a kind of doggy hayfever, and unlike in humans dogs don't get itchy eyes and runny noses, they are more likely to get skin, paw and ear irritations and rashes. Long grass is more likely to have a pollen producing tip than short grass in your garden.
