Hi all Smile
I know I've asked before but she's shaking again.
She will lie in front of us on the floor and her whole body will shake.
Its pretty much all the time, she's been out, fed, got water, been played with.
She's not in season, not cold, she's on steroid tablets for feet nibbling (which are working a treat!).
I really cant think of a reason why she's shaking.
If I tell her off she shakes even more but I dont want to say 'good girl' as she'll think thats what I want her to do.

Any suggestions at all??

Can you not tie this up to a certain event , maybe an encounter whilst you were out ?? Maybe you could make a video of it so we can see ?? I can't picture whether this is a quiver or a really full on shake ?? If it's something she does all the time maybe you could think about trying her with a Thundershirt

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thundershirt-Best-Solution-Anxiety-XLarge/dp/B003RAXHTG/ref=sr_1_5?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1340482591&sr=1-5

A few of our members have bought these (including me) and had good results to relieve anxiety in a variety of situations such as fireworks, separation anxiety , car travel. It's around £30 , money well spent if it does the trick and if it doesn't then it's a pretty cool coat Smile

Steroids can do strange things & can make a dog shake. Was she doing it before the steroids?

Is she nervous of something? Is she aware of things when it happens? I hope she's ok x

Lexi shakes when shes anxious and staffies can be very anxious dogs. some shake with anticipation too.

Try a calmer or some lavender scents maybe?

That an excellent idea from Hayley thumbs up , lavender oil is very good for calming and can be used at bedtime too, just a drop or two near the bedding.

My Diesel will shake really badly with excitement, anxiousness, or being scared.

I would say it's just how mine is, she's much more sensitive and more super alert than my male staffy who dissent shake at all.

Another thing, if you are anxious or worried about her when she's shaking she will pick up on this and shake more !

I tend to ignore my Diesels shaking now and she works thru it, calms down and is fine x

if it's an anxiety issue you could also try dap collar, it's a collar infused with the pheromones a new mother releases and they're supposed to relax the dog and make them feel safe. we used them on buster when we first got him back from the dog home to ease the transition for him and they did seem to help.
