What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
First topic message reminder :
Right i've done this thread on another site, but the idea is to show photos, or tell others what the pooches had to eat today.
This is mainly for raw feeders, but anyone is welcome to add. It also helps new raw feeders get ideas for meals or to know what things look like
Some of these photos are new, some are from when Harv was a few months old
To be continued..........

I phoned DAF and got a price list. Just missed this months delivery so have to wait until next month now. You said you buy in bulk. How much do you approx order each time? I have a chest freezer but I think £50 will fill allot of it

A few more of Saffy eating raw.......
Raw Lamb Shank Bone- trying to get the marrow out
It's better than a Kong! And cheaper....25p. Great chew toy.
Her First Pigs Foot
She nearly had a fit when I gave it too her! She dragged it around everywhere to find somewhere to chew it!

No worries the suppliers list has DAF where i order from, is there a pets at home near you? as a lot of them have a freezer section with raw food in (a lot is minced stuff but they should sell some chunks) and then theres the butchers.
Oh and see if you have a chinese supermarket near you for alsorts of goodies!

Ok cheers! Been buying her a reduced steaks and cutting them up!
I've had to cut back on her bones a bit- chicken necks to be exact. She's not a big eater at all but will scoff those down in no time. But last Sunday we had a 'poop incident' where she passed some undigested neck bone.....I'll spare you the details but in the end I had to 'manually help' her pass the stool.....
Shes only allowed 1-2 chicken neck chunks a day now....

Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
Well i feed one big boney bit and either offal or a boneless bit everyday
Guest- Guest
Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
Yeah that's kinda my plan too. Easier to balance out the meals. Except I am trying to give her a bit more meat at the moment due to her 'poop incident'.
I did notice you give offal everyday aswell. Is that like one whole kidney etc a day?

I don't give offal every day i generally do one or two big meals a weeks as i balance the meals/ratios over 2 months
I also feed once a day so the photos are all the boys will get for that day i find it easier to feed that way

Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
i think it sounds like a good way to feed, but no worries about some bizarre bacterial thing like e coli or salmonella from the egg shells? I guess it's sort of a long shot for those things to be a real problem, but i've been raised with the fear of God put into me about bacterial diseases from raw meat and eggs... also, no worries about chicken or other small bones causing choking? i ask only because i'm thinking about doing it myself, or maybe half and half or even just throwing Jelly a chicken leg or something now and then, but have those concerns.
also, I have no idea where we would store the food. I guess it takes a daily or every couple of days trip to the butcher?

Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
Dogs are built different from humans. When we think of bacteria in raw food we automatically think of what are the risks from a human point of view. Their digestive system is built better to cope with bacteria.
If you are going to give the odd bone, make sure they are RAW and not cooked as cooked bones can be dangerous.
I have a chest freezer just for Blue's food, so I order approx 6 weeks worth at a time. Some of the foods also need to be frozen first to kill off some bacteria that can be dangerous to dogs.
