What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
First topic message reminder :
Right i've done this thread on another site, but the idea is to show photos, or tell others what the pooches had to eat today.
This is mainly for raw feeders, but anyone is welcome to add. It also helps new raw feeders get ideas for meals or to know what things look like
Some of these photos are new, some are from when Harv was a few months old
To be continued..........

Baileys getting a lamb leg tomorrow the wee freak prob won't eat it haha he's awkward as hell! He despises chicken unless its mince. Sierra had a chicken leg quarter and left the drumstick bit, what does Bailey do.... Scoffs it when she walked away he's testing my patience haha

Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
Yeah might aswell! He doesn't eat in the morning and eventually wants it at like 12pm so I'll just start feeding him at 4 or something! The other week when I said about 1 feed he started eating in the morning but he's off it again haha

I had the same problem with Blue. I put him down to 1 evening meal a day now he eats everything everytime.
Been looking into what supplements I should get etc. At first glance it seems like it will work out allot. How much do you both spend a month on supplements DE, Keepers etc

Keepers Mix is £30 from DAF and will last agessss maybe a year for my 2! DE was about £12 and will last a year if not more! So it's not too expensive!

Looked at keepers last time as I order from DAF. What size tubs have you got of each? Didn't think it would last that long as it recommends 2 scoops (5ml / day) of keepers

Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
I've got the 1kg Keepers Mix and the DE comes in sealed bags, which was 2kg.

Don't like the pics but understand why you feed it. They look like they enjoy it! I haven't got anywhere to store it and I'm too squeamish.

Oh no, ew I wish I had the freezer space, but I don't think my mum wants to share the only big freezer we have with animal heads and whatnot. You have great access to so many different things to feed them though, that must be brilliant I've yet to even find a chicken neck
Guest- Guest
Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
we share '1' of the freezers with them the other is just theres! haha
Butchers may sell you chicken necks, but you won't find them in supermarkets and TBH they are a pain at times to find

I can't believe how opposite it is here We can get chicken everythings everywhere but struggle to find any of the interesting things you feed the boys Ella
Guest- Guest
Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
We can get normal chicken things like wings, legs and that but 'normal' supermarkets won't sell feet, or necks or carcasses and that, they need to be from butchers or raw food suppliers
Guest- Guest
Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
We can get feet, necks, carcasses at any of our supermarkets.. But not even many of our butchers sell anything with fur/hair still on it Or whole heads.. i have to take a fair drive to even pick her up whole rabbits

where do u source all ur stuff ella? i've asked my local butchers for random cuts of meat and there were not helpful in the slightest!
Diesel got her first pig head from DAF a few weeks ago, spent ages trying to hack through it, got covered in pig fat.....and she couldnt have been less interested in it if she tried! she had a few licks then just kept going back to her bowl and crying looking for food, needless to say it just went in the bin

On the pigs head, get a good heavy clever and rubber mallet, rest the clever and hit it with the mallet, i split pigs and lambs heads really easy that way.
I order my bulk order from DAF, i also visit a few shops around here, butchers, catering butchers, chinese supermarkets etc

Great pics and a great selection as always.
Don't think Blue would eat the sheeps head or rabbit with fur. He won't eat raw fish either. He will however eat sardines from a tin in tomoato sauce. Wouldn't mind just geting 1 rabbit to see if he would eat it or not. Where do you get your rabbits from? Do you freeze them first for a few days or are they good to go straight away? Any fresh rabbit good as long as it hasn't been killed by a lead bullet or are there other things to watch out for?

my rabbits i get from a local hunter so they are wild rabbits, but he shots them with a rifle and steel bullet but its a through and through head shot. He then freezes them before i get them and then they go in mine, so i freeze then for about 3 weeks ish but i have fed fresh without problems.
There is 2 pet shops round here that sell fur on and skinned rabbits but shops are more expensive but they come gutted and skinned for you.
If it was killed by lead shot i go through and take any pellets out, they tend to be really easy to find as they are just under the skin/fur

Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
Cheers I'll try and source some local that are skinned first. If he loves it I'll try him with on in all it's furry glory.
I thought once it was shot with lead it was no good even if you remove the pellet since the lead will be in the blood stream. Maybe that only matters in birds of prey

Oh with birds of prey you don't want to feed anything with lead, but with dogs they are like us and need to ingest ALOT of lead over a good period of times to become ill

What a great selection Ella, really enjoying looking through your mrla pictures:) . Our holly won't eat raw fish either but loves sardines in oil from the tin.
I am feeding tripe once a day and chicken drumsticks and wings . I sm
introducing kidneys , liver slowly . I tried heart twice last week and it went down a treat with no upset tummies . Infact the only time she has had loose poo is when I gave her a lamb chop.

Blue is becoming obsessed with trying to hack into Ella's account so he can find her address. He spends half his day trying to hack and the other half practicing his sad face in front of the mirror so he can get his foot in the door when he gets there.
