What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
First topic message reminder :
Right i've done this thread on another site, but the idea is to show photos, or tell others what the pooches had to eat today.
This is mainly for raw feeders, but anyone is welcome to add. It also helps new raw feeders get ideas for meals or to know what things look like
Some of these photos are new, some are from when Harv was a few months old
To be continued..........

Today i've spent the last hour gutting the rabbits and cutting some up for part meals and chucked the rest in the freezer whole
So today was a rabbit quarter and tripe
Notice harvey still likes to 'kill' his food!

Great pics
Blue loves tripe. Family aren't too keen on the smell, but it's only there for 30 seconds

Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
We have a 14 week old pup, ever since we got her from the rescue (where she had her vaccinations) she has had a cough and delicate tummy, despite two visits to the vets which cost us over £100 she is getting better but we are feeding her on boiled chicken, rice, veg and a banana now and again. Loves it all, but we tried to reintroduce dry food and her tummy goes runny again....
Now I have found a local dog trainer who supplies raw food so he is going to give me 2kg to try on her.
It has to be the way, after all she wouldnt be eating dry food or boiled chicken and rice in the wild.
When you feed raw food, what else do you need to provide other than fluids
Thanks

With feeding raw aslong as you feed a balanced diet you don't need to add anything else. Have a look at these links for raw feeding.

Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
I thought the true test to see if they had food aggression was to take raw tripe off them and a cracked raw egg. Not by taking the bowl away but by grabbing the food with your bare hands and holding it for 20 seconds >

Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
tripe isn't their favourite food
Harv i can take any food off anyway

I know but I just want to see you holding smelly tripe with your bare eggy hands

Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
Oh and you have to rub a bit in your face before you give them it back. It's like the ultimate test. Do the egg first then the tripe

Re: What's in the bowl today! (graphic photos - raw)
Email DAF to get their full list of foods the website is *
With rabbit i freeze or get them frozen for a while and it kills any bugs.
The only thing rabbits in the Uk suffer with particually is myxomatosis HOWEVER it cannot be given to you or your dog, so i feed myxy rabbits as they are the ones the boys can catch.

Hey you don't have to cut them up but i have 2 dogs so it saves money to cut them in half and then save another head for a later date!
I use a cleaver and hit it with a rubber mallet and a few hits it's in half
Between the heads there is very little difference apart from pigs head weigh alot more, and have more meat/fat on them.

I would just ask for their updated price list and when they deliver to you I don't feed minced food alot at all, i only use it to hide supplements in!

He's getting better, wolfs the mince down lol but he's still not too sure about the wings unless I'm holding them, going to start just letting him figure it out for himself though haha! Placing a new order with DAF for more proper bone bits, Lamb bones, lamb legs, tripe etc!
