Please help- vomiting
Hi
Debo had his first walk this weekend, everything was fine till last night. My OH took him for a walk at 11pm and noticed loose poo, then around 1.30am Debo had diarrhea,he said it was just water. This stoped and he started vomiting, two first times he throw up his food ( last meal he had at 7.30 ,that meal was bigger because we increased his portion),then it was only yellow watery staff. He doesn't want to drink anything,he's very clingy, looks like he's suffering. Please tell me how o help him untill I take him to the vet ( 8.30 ). I'm so worried. On the walks he didn't picked up any rubbish but sometimes he grabed a leaf or flower.

Re: Please help- vomiting
Please keep us updated, they're so worrying when they're pups, and they do often have small stomach upsets and the runs etc!

Aw poor Debo! I hope he perks up and is back to normal soon. I'm really sorry, I was on here just after 6 this morning but somehow missed your post and I feel awful because your first post sounded very distressed. I hope you're feeling a little better now, he's in good hands. Please let us know how he gets on at the vets.

Re: Please help- vomiting
I was actually going to start a new post regarding this matter too. We took Zeus to the market on Saturday around 9.00am to beat the hot weather.. he walked around for about 20 minutes, ended up vomiting twice and i had to take him back to the car. I put the a/c on, he slept for an hour and he was fine!
Yesterday, I took him for his usual morning walk around 8am, he was fine. I then took him for his evening walk around 9pm (again, to beat the hot weather), and he ended up vomiting again! Took him back home, gave him a few ice cubes to cool him down and he was fine! His poo has also been very soft and almost diarrhea like.
I've put both of these incidents down to the hot weather, he loves sunbathing in the garden, but doesnt like any type of physical activity in this heat. Maybe this is the same with your pup? Zeus is coming up to 16 weeks now and hes having problems with the heat, if your pup is younger than him, then it could be the same?

Re: Please help- vomiting
puppies are extremely susceptible to changes in heat, but also can pick up any little bug going around. And of course, being so young their immune system isn't very strong yet & so they react quite dramatically.
jola139, please try not to worry too much (easier said than done). The vet will put Debo on a drip to make sure that he doesn't dehydrate & they'll moniter his progress. Sometimes all it needs is a rest & they bounce back very quickly!
I'm sure that he's in the best possible hands & that he'll be right as rain very soon!

Hoping Debo is OK, sounds like he is in safe hands. I think the weather may well be having an effect on them. At least the vet will be able to monitor his progress. I'm sure he will be fine.

Re: Please help- vomiting
He said that debo is still,he could catch some virus but shouldn't be worried. Just with them, the nurse told me that he's fine, percky,no more vomiting just one loose poo. The temp is going down, they gonna keep giving him fluid. Do you think it could be from the heat? It was his first time out, maybe we over did it.

Re: Please help- vomiting
It could be the heat. As a general guideline walks should be 5 minutes per month and done 2-3 times per day. They always seem to want more though

Re: Please help- vomiting
It sounds like he is getting better already, I'm sure he will be back with you soon In this weather Buster is hardly wanting to walk anywhere, even when it's late, so maybe with the heat and the excitment it was all a bit much for him. Hopefully when you pick him up the vets will be able to tell you a bit more.

Re: Please help- vomiting
So ,picked him up around 11. He was so happy,me too. He's fine, the vet said that he could pick up something on the walk but he recovered very quickly. Now he's being little monster, checking how far he can push his luck. He's also is very clingy, thinks that I'm gonna leave him again.

Great news, I'm glad Debo is feeling better. They can be such a worry but are generally pretty resilient

He's been weeing like crazy since I've got him, every 20 min. Do you think is because they put on the drip? It's been 24h since he's at home...

Yes, Dempsey did that - they fill them so full of fluid that they can't get rid of it quick enough! For about 48 hours Dempsey would pee for england! If he went to sleep on the sofa we had to put a towel under him just in case!
