Vomiting
Sorry to sound thick but Mia has been sick about 4 times since yesterday afternoon, we realised she was in season late last night, so is it just part of being in season or is it a problem?
It's like white/yellow froth, no food being bought up at all, but she didn't want her breakfast this morning, she did eat last night.
I think it's where she's licking herself it's making her be sick?

Re: Vomiting
i am sorry i have a boy, but someone will be along with a girl shortly,
if it is not to do with being in season, just dont feed her anything for 24 hours to see how it goes, if it carries on then I would take her to the vets incase there is something stuck somewhere inside

Re: Vomiting
I don't think its part of the season but all dogs are different. Maybe try her on something like chicken and rice, Moo has done this before an it wasn't anything to worry about but as Lynne said my only worry would be something trapped in her throat Xx

Re: Vomiting
Well I was expecting her to be a bit sorry for herself, but not to be sick with it, and if you google sickness in heat you can't find an answer to if it's normal or a serious problem, I don't want the expense of a vet visit if it's just part of the season but I also don't want to delay any treatment if it's very unusual and should be investigated!
We checked her throat and doesn't seem anythin stuck, she doesn't normally swallow things, just chews them up and spits them out!

Re: Vomiting
If she isn't bringing anything up, then I doubt it's serious. Her hormones could be making her feel a bit off, though.
What is she doing just before she's sick?

Re: Vomiting
Tbh I don't know, as she was sick in the night, I got up this morning and she was sitting up in her bed, she always gets on my lap for morning cuddles then she just walked away and started vomiting, it was more like a cat trying to bring up a fur ball then full on retching though

Re: Vomiting
How often do you feed her? Bringing up bile (yellow froth) is often a sign of excess stomach acid, which could be due to the changes in her body because of the season. Try splitting her meals into three smaller portions for the time being, spacing them out evenly. So, say, 7.00am, 3.00pm, 11pm. That way there shouldn't be any build up of stomach acid.

Re: Vomiting
Ok I will do, thanks very much, she normally eats twice, morning and night so I'll try this and see how she is!
No more sick so far though!

The worse thing about that is when it comes out the other end & gets stuck! Lost count of the amount of times I've had to pull grass out of a dog's backside!

She's feeling much better today thank you, there was no more sick yesterday, and all her feeding and poo is all back to normal, though she is eating smaller portions!
Tried to get her some hygiene pants but the guy in pets @ home just giggled wen I asked, to be fair though she is being very clean, not much mess at all!
Thanks for all your good wishes!!

Re: Vomiting
What did he giggle for? How immature!
They do sell them, well they do in my local PAH. You're better off having a look round the store yourself than asking a man!
