Eating poo
Ever since I've had Zeus at 8 weeks, up until now, 13/14 weeks, he'll eat his poo! I've tried everything I've researched.. charcoal biscuits, pineapple chunks and I always tell him off when he goes near it. I always pick up the poo straight away, but there have been a few times where I've left it deliberatly, and anytime he goes near it, I tell him off so he knows he can't go there. When I'm around, he won't go near it, or he'll try to get near it and then I'll tell him off. The problem is when I'm not there.. He'll gobble it all up.. just like he has right now!
Does anyone have any tips? Apart from this he's the perfect puppy!

Re: Eating poo
The only thing you can do is keep on correcting him. Most of them will grow out of it after a few months.

Re: Eating poo
just try to make sure you get to it before he does. A firm LEAVE should help too.

Re: Eating poo
I don't know what you are feeding him but sometimes if it's a very rich food it isn't digested properly and to some dogs it can still smell very enticing, this is one of the reasons some dogs like cat poop as it doesn't get digested properly. I could be totally wrong but maybe worth considering. Good luck and fingers crossed he'll grow out of it soon

ive tried charcoal biscuits for about a month now, they don't stop zeus from eating his poo but they do help his digestion and he doesn't fart as much, they're also good for his breath!

Re: Eating poo
Hi
We had the same problem with Delilah. Eventually we found she had Roundworm and after giving her her Advocate she has got rid of the worm and doesnt go near her poo and gives it a wide birth. We still say NO once shes done it just to re confirm that its not good . We also changed her food to Arden Grange which has helped with her putting on weight too. At 16 wks she was 3.4kg and now at 21 wks she is 7+kg.
