weeing and pooing in the house...
so scarletts been weeing and pooing in the house for 3 weeks (i thought it was 2 but OH been keeping a note!), she was doing so well and now she just does it when ever she likes! she gets taken out every half an hour to an hour, she gets made a fuss of and treated when she does the loo, and she was crate trained but has decided to pee and poo in that too! everyday im washing her bed and blankets because they smell, i even tryed whie vinger where he peed and pooed but she is still doing it. im completely out of ideas now im trying my best with her but she just isnt getting any better, she is even pooing and peeing on my clothes and im constantly washing them too im kinda at the end of my teather as i never have any clothes.
Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
What are cleaning up with? Have you tried a solution of biological washing liquid?

Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
yes caryll vet told me that but to no avil, she still doing it i even went out and bought a good brand biolgical wahsing powder and bought liquid tabs too, washed her bedding and my clothes in it but she still does it, but when she does it in the house i clean it up and try notto make a huge deal as i dont wanna scare her into never going to the loo =/
Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
That's all you can do....just keep doing what you're doing & she'll get better. She's still quite young. Dempsey wasn't fully house trained until he was about 6 or 7 months old.

Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
well that what i was thinking i dont mind on her bedding so much as its easily washed but when she does it on my clothes the smell lingers and its not very nice had to give soem of my top a few cyles before the smell has come out =/
Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
when she had something to eat are you taking her out in the garden? its really easy to house train a dog, every time they drink or eat take them out until they have done something, it only take a couple months it take years to house train a kid
Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
yes steve she does, we take her out when shes had food or drink then when she does something wait half an hour to an hour
Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
you have to do it all the time she eat and drink and after a while she will get it ...
Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
i done it with all my dogs i never really had a problem are you 100% sure u taking her out after she had food or drink every time?
Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
We have a plan on the fridge... feeds, walks, toilet breaks naps etc, helped make sure we had the routine nailed... we cleaned up with biological washing powder solution, but the key thing is to watch for a change in their behavior... We soon cottoned on to Rolo doing a very tight circle move or a scratch of the carpet... soon as we saw it... we said "out".. opened the door and he either ran out or was put out.. we both learnt together... it takes patience and time, but watching her will help you pre-empt her movements (scuse the pun!!)

Yea deffo you need to watch her more, they all have little signs, Mia 's is biting and snapping at her tail!
To be honest, Mia has never pooed or peed on me or anyone else, but I'd probably stop cuddling her so much if she did!!
Even when she's dun it in the house, take her straight out wher she should have gone, then i'd ignore her for a bit !

Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
Yes Steve in positive I do. And she doesn't whine or circle, she just squats and does it :/
Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
Sounds like you are doing all the right things. All I can say is that patience and consistancy pay off in the end.

Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
To be honest, and many here will disagree, I do think she needs to know that it is naughty to go in the house.
I kno she's very young but if you see her squat I would say something like "ah ah" and pick her up and put her outside.
I know she doesn't have full control of her bladder etc but u sound like u are home most of the day so it's not as if she's being left too long and got no choice.
I'm not saying to scare her and tell her off and shout at her

Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
Mine goes out after food, drink, sleep and play. We also give ours a treat everytime he does it outside, which seems to encourage him to go more lol.

Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
You're doing well!! I've only had mine a week and today was the first time she'd pood and weed on the carpet (Normally she does it in the garage), and I myself felt as if I was at the end of my tether already...
Time to start some stronger training and do what everyone's saying - taking her out after she eats and drinks... I leave her bowl out for her to eat whenever she wants, but I think I'm going to have to make her eating times more routine... which will be hard with the varying shifts I have at work.
Goodluck to us both!

Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
I agree with what's already been said above.
I had a similar episode with Tank when he was 6mths or so, he randomly would pee indoors...almost like he couldn't be bothered to go the door which was open !
Anyway, I didn't make a big deal if it. Then one day in the lounge, he peed. I immediately shouted NO!!!! Scooped him up mid-pee and plonked him outside.
He hasnt done it since.
I wasn't harsh or mean just assertive, there's only so much u can put up with !

Rosie is 18-19 months.. Do you think I still have hope? If only she didn't weigh 21 kgs it'd be a bit easier to take her outside immediately.

Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
We had some issues with Kenny doing the same. I got advice from a trainer and it worked. Firstly, take her out every 20mins, as soon as she starts to pee say "pee" as soon as she stops praise her alot. Do the same with the pooing

Ofc. If Rosie goes to pee in the house use a vocal correction and just quickly usher her outside. Lots of praise when she pees or poops outside.
The key is catching them in the act, and dealing with it that moment.
Ofc this dosent apply to tiny pups, just the older pups/adults that regress into bad habits !

Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
You need to take her b4, not when she does it. If she does wee or poo, say nothing, just clean it up. Only praise when she does it out side. I promise, it really works. I was told no to say anything if Kenny did it in doors as attension is attension. She'll soon learn that she'll get a positive praise by going out doors.Jackieb wrote:RosieRose wrote:Jackieb wrote:I agree with what's already been said above.

Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
Just a thought. If a bitch is randomly peeing indoors it could be that she has a mild UTI & might need some antibiotics from the vet.

Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
I am pretty pleased to learn that I'm not the only one going through this, bow is 9 months old and is getting worse at this potty lark! She does tend to go to the toilet in the house usually when we r in bed sleeping! That said on the odd occasion me or my OH or even the kids av fallen asleep on the sofa she just cwtches in and doesn't move, then when I wake up she wags her tail by the door to be let out!! If she sleeps on her own and gets let out twice between 11pm and 6am I still wake up to her poops and pees! And if I leave clothes on the radiators then that's pretty lethal!!! I hope u manage to get thro this tough bit pretty soon!

Re: weeing and pooing in the house...
I was getting frustrated myself unltil I read some tips here. I thought I was doing the right thing by buying puppy training pads and didn't seem to be getting anywhere. Now, taking Brody out first thing for a wee, after food and generally every couple of hours he is messing indoors less. Good luck and the treat thing works!!! Brody even forces a widdle for a treat lol
