Crying Ali looks SO depressed

Post by Ali's Bitch Sun Apr 08 2012, 13:05

i think if someone came in and saw how he walks around sometimes with his ears down and the big sad eyes and almost a frown they would think Ali was bein abused or something. he does look downright depressed. its not just 'puppy dog eyes' . its a heartbreaker i sware.
i have him 6wks now (from dogs trust @10mths old) and he settled in without a bother.no problems whatsoever.he was nervous at first but was quick to get his feet under the table. hes walked twice a day and we have snuggle time, playtime in the garden and some training each day. i try to keep him stimulated. he was reared with another dog and 2 kids (i have neither) and loves to meet other dogs and kids on our walks.Maybe he misses that regular interaction?? maybe he wasnt treated very well in his last home ?? hes terrified of the rain too. im gonna start him at agility nt wk so he gets his chance to stay socialised . maybe its just his personality, or my friend suggested he was perhaps the runt of his litter of 5 pups.
is this familiar to anyone??

my boyfs mums dog is the same! hes a lurcher mix, and hes got an almost perfect life. She gets up early before work and walks him, then hes fed and left for a few hours while shes out. when she gets in the first thing she does his take him on a longer walk, which includes swimming and ball chasing, as well as socialising with dogs he meets on their walk, and with her mothers dog who she also takes out. when they get back, hes fed a second meal. when shes not in work she enjoys rambling, and almost always takes him with her, often walking 10-15 miles in one day. then in the evenings we usually kick the ball for him in the garden. So a pretty sweet life. except he walks around the house like hes been beaten or something! if we are in the kitchen cooking he mopes around us looking absoloutly dejected and none of us no why. hes never been smacked by us, and is only rarely shouted at but yet he looks like an advert for the RSPCA. havnt a clue why hes like this, but he always has been, its really odd.

He could just need some more time to settle in. I wouldn't worry too much and it sounds like he is well cared for
