Strange behaviour on season?
Skye's been on her season for about a week now, it's her second but she's acting really strange and out of character. She's really skulky, and nervous. Like you'd expect an abused animal to be, she's walking with her head down, tail right under, ears back and shivering. It's really strange and quite upsetting as we've never as much raised our voice at her! Has anyone any ideas as to why she's being like this? I know she's hormonal obviously but like I said she's really nervous all of a sudden.

Re: Strange behaviour on season?
I think they all differ. I've had 4 bitches & each one has been totally different during their seasons.
At the start of a season they can get quite upset, a bit like women with PMS I suppose. If you think it's too OTT then have a quick word with your vet to see if they can sugest anything.

Just ben trying to coax her off her bed, got her playing with a ball for 5 minutes. We've just noticed it seems to be when she see's her blood (luckily we have a wood floor and mop constantly on the go) I'm thinking she's thinkings she's had an accident maybe? I suppose it is just her season, forgot to add she's started barking at people who walk past now which she's NEVER done! Ah, the difficulties of being a woman eh? lol

Taz just had her first one, she changed daily - became shy then OK, nervous, wouldn't play ball for a couple of days, very sleepy, cuddly and whiny .. started to try and escape (which she has never done), Bark at noises, Licking her paws, a lot more 'out-time' in her little indoor kennel/space - And it was a race to clean the blood up stopping her from licking it up ..
All is over and she has come through a livelier, more attentive and seemingly more obedient puppy And of course - she now has nipples

Re: Strange behaviour on season?
The only thing that got me a bit concerned is that it's her second and she was absolutely fine on her first. I suppose it's different every time for them, it's just a little saddening that she seems so scared. Makes me feel like a bad Mum lol.
Yeah, she keeps trying to lick it up too the mucky pup, also caught her "rubbing herself" on the doormat earlier the bugger

Re: Strange behaviour on season?
Bless, just try and make her experience as peaceful, positive and as pleasant as possible, I'm sure you're doing your very best for her and the nervousness will pass
yes, that's something else I noticed - when she shook and splatting blood on the wall and rubbing up against furniture and me .. I did put panties on her indoors though unless she was in her space - to save the cleaning of her legs and floors - white fur is not fun to clean -
