Hey all.
Can anyone shed any light on the following topic....

Poppy got spayed last Thursday.....she's recovering well but yesterday she was acting very out of character. Basically from morning time to night time she carried around her small plastic football...it went with her everywhere...A few times she tried to hide it between the cushions on my sofa....then tried to 'dig up' the carpet behind the sofa to hide it there also! She went into her cage last night without it...but after her morning pee she immediately went and got it and is now sleeping cuddled into it.

Will this be in anyway related to her spaying or just a coincidence....I'm confused lol Surprised Surprised

I'm not sure, maybe she's just feeling a little out of sorts after the op and has become more attached to the ball?

It could be that her hormones are a bit out of balance at the moment, understandably. I'm sure she will be fine in a few days time, if you are unduly concerned mention it the vet next time you are in there with her.

I think she's probably just feeling a little sorry for herself and the toy is comforting to her!

It sounds like maybe 'nesting' behaviour? Bailey was spayed about 10 days ago and has been behaving weirdly too, racing about and hyper like a puppy. My guess for both of them would be that it's hormonal. Bailey is starting to seem a bit more normal now tg Smile
