5p carrier bag rant !

What were the government thinking when they placed this new rule ? People are so STUPID behind the till. My dad and I had a fish and chip supper tonight.

1 x Cod
1 x Mushy Peas
1 x Curry Sauce
1 x Large Chips

Paid by card as I don't carry cash. So that's a 50p(!) charge to my card. I pay. They cook and prepare. She plonks them all on the counter, all wrapped separately, and says 'thanks'.

'Erm, can I have a carrier bag for all that ?'
'5p please.'
I pull out my card and she goes to take it.
'You're gonna charge me 65p for a bloody carrier bag, when you should have asked me before I paid for my goods if I would like a carrier bag, so you expected me to walk out holding all that hot food in my hands ??'.

Had the carrier bag for free in the end.

My rant is, before now, I've gone food shopping, showing no evidence of my own bags in my hand, and they ask 'would you like a carrier bag' after they've tallied up all my goods and they are sat there on the counter ... I mean ... REALLY ?

Next time, I'm going to say 'think I might challenge myself to carrying all those 100 items in my hands whilst doing the macarena out the store ! DIMWIT !

Some girl threw a carrier bag at me once after she bleeped all of my goods and I asked for one ... she's lucky she didn't chew it !

I know some supermarkets charge for carrier bags now, and I don't have a problem with it - but come on, a bit of common sense would help!

I buy these 'bags for life' & make sure I take them with me. I don't think I've paid for a carrier bag for months!

Same here, I have little corner shelves in my boot, they are perfect for carrier bag storage ... stupid me though will get to the till and then remember I have bags in the car lol

teh thing with shops now is they are employing the idiot moron who honestly did not do well at school. some kids dont listen at school and dont listen at home if they are ever given any advise at all and so enter sociaety with no manners no morals nothing and they get a job in ahsop where they are as thick as 2 short planks at times so i wouldnt trust them as far as i could throw them their customer service skills are none existant and their manners never developed either. and then liek yofu say they look at you as if you have 2 heads for asking for a bag. i have big pockets love but they aint that big and sorry but unlike the woman on the coffee advert i refuse to take my bra off and use that

oh and by the way i have loads of those reusable bags at the side of the fridge. some are plastic some are material some are hesian sacking but will my brain remind me to take them with me NNOOOOO!!!!! stupid memory

I hate it when people ask you if you want a carrier bag.No,no i dont want one. Ill just carry my items on my head shall i ?
