rant

Sorry but i want to do a little rant!

Been out to the OH's dads again, and as harvey is getting quite confident with playing with other dogs he knows, he's getting a little barky when the other dogs are tired and not playing with him, but he's learning but anyhoos.

Anyway a friend of his dad came round while we were there and he felt like he needed to question everything about harvey, how we are bringing him up, what we are feeding him etc. I mentioned about how we would like to try him on the 'raw' diet when he's older and got stupid remarks like 'why would you do that are you training him for fighting, just give him a few biscuits and he can make do he's only a f****** dog, plus it will make him very nasty!'

We have also just got him a new harness which he has just got used to, and he was on about how you should be very firm to the dog, and then grabbed the back of the harness to pick up harvey and drop him and hold him on his back and terrify the poor lad he then told me that you shouldn't ever play games etc with a staff and definitely not roughly (which we already do but he knows the limits) as they are stupid dogs and will think its alright to be nasty as it's in their nature

Anyway sorry just a bit p***ed of today now

What an idiot sounds like he doesnt know alot really you stayed calm id of gone mad i dont understand how feeding raw would mean you want to fight him lol and the bit about playing rough is just daft as long as they know the limits it fine silly man

believe me there was a few choice words from me but i don't really understand the feeding raw for fighting training, but he was sure thats the other reason to do it!

Mind you, when I told people I was going to feed Dempsey raw, I was told it would give him bloodlust & that I'd never be able to trust him again!

I woulda told the guy off. No one puts their hands on my dog, or calls him stupid!! Saxon is one of the smartest dogs that I have ever met, learns very quickly! Sorry you had to go through this!!

mine is on a raw diet doesnt make him want to fight lol but then mine also likes a chunk of apple guess what? it hasnt made him a vegitarian either!!

if i didnt play with mine i would have him whineing all day everyday and anyway i like it the rougher the better!!

some people like to think they know everything when clearly they dont lets face it how many people have crossed the road to walk as far away from you and your staffy as possible thinking they will be attacked? heaven forbid grimble doesnt catch them or they may get licked to death.

i didn't stay that cool believe me, i just left that bit out but no TBH i don't think he has ever owned a dog at all. Yer harvey loves to play rough but knows not to go to far.
